Here’s looking at you, Sophie Dillman and Patrick O’Connor! – The performers on Home And Away have a history of falling in love offscreen. Sarah Roberts and James Stewart experienced the same thing.
When Sarah joined the cast as the fiery, leather-clad Willow in 2017, James was already a regular on the iconic Australian soap, playing bad boy Justin.
There was no denying there was electricity between these two from the time Sarah sauntered onto the screen, much to James’ character’s amazement (more on that later).
Sarah has previously stated that she and James have such a close bond that their love scenes together seemed absolutely natural.
“There’s real chemistry, so it’s easy – I don’t even have to act!” she explained.
Sarah claims that knowing their love is genuine off-screen has aided her on set.
“It’s hard not to laugh sometimes – [James is] very funny. But it also adds to the work that we do, having those little secrets. It’s fun.”
The pair married in July 2019 in a spectacular wedding attended by just their closest relatives and friends, following a whirlwind romance.
They had two weddings: the ceremonial signing of the paperwork at a casual gathering in Sydney’s Coogee, and their lavish ceremonies in an Irish castle.
Sarah shared this sweet snapshot of a bouquet of roses given to her by James, as well as a polaroid from their first wedding anniversary, containing a photo of herself, James, and Scout, the daughter he shares with his former wife Jessica Marais.
The wedding, according to James, was a “new beginning” for the pair, allowing them to make their own memories for the rest of their lives.
“It feels like a foundation’s made to go and do something brilliant,” James has previously said.”Who knows what’s going to happen in the next six, 12, 18, 24 months? But whatever it is, it’s going to be well-supported and it’s going to be so much easier.”

James and Sarah showed some wholesome Instagram PDA by posting a couple of poolside selfies.
The Home and Away actor was the first to share the snaps, and he gushed, “… love ya baby x.”
Ever a supportive co-star, Georgie Parker commented, “Beautiful.”
Sarah then posted one of the selfies on her account and replied, “hey husby. I love u too ?.”

James took his beloved wife on a helicopter adventure for her 37th birthday, and they couldn’t look more in love high in the sky.
Sarah shared a picture from inside the helicopter, of her in James’ arms, and with pancakes, which she captioned, “Absolutely spoilt. Thank you @jamesstewart Love you husby ❤️.”
Their friend and Home and Away star, Ada Nicodemou, shared her congratulatory message in the Instagram posts’ comment section. She wrote, “Happy birthday gorgeous, I hope u had a lovely day ❤️.”Instagram

James posted a photo of himself and Sarah during the party he arranged for her on Instagram, along with a besotted note.
He penned, “Thanks @bigpoppas_syd for the food, the wine, the hip hop, and the whiskey at Sarah’s party… such a good night! ??.”
Sarah adoringly replied with a loved-up comment detailing just how much she enjoyed James’ birthday surprises.
“BEST. NIGHT. EVERRRRRR!!!!! So good to be ripping it up on the DF with my baby again. Love u my secret squirrel husby xxx I take it back, you’re EXCELLENT at surprises now!! ?,” she gushed. Instagram
Sarah thanked her friends, family, and fans for their expressions of support in a second post, sharing a few photos from her big birthday dinner, which included sweet snaps with her hubby.
Alongside the pictures, she wrote, “What a birthday! ? Thank you for all the love & attention from my sneaky husby! You made me feel like an absolute queen! All my beautiful friends & family…your presence & presents (see what I did there!? ?), texts, videos, surprises, dance moves, calls & outpouring of love have left my heart bursting & my cheeks sore from smiling. What a miracle it is to even exist! ❤️????????????❤️??.”

Sarah published a humorous image of their engagement photos doctored to make them look ancient to commemorate three years since James proposed to her. Her brother, of course, was the mastermind behind the alteration.
She began her caption by sweetly penning, “3 years ago today Jimmy asked me to be his wifey.” But she quickly turned her attention to her brother’s antics by writing, “To celebrate, here’s what my bro had to say about it… he’d be happy his jokes are famous, and I’m still happily married.” Instagram
