Home And Away fans have followed Ethan Browne’s Summer Bay journey with eager eyes since he made his debut at the start of 2020 as Tane Parata.
We mean it when we say the 30-year-old has hungry eyes; he’s far from an eyesore and has rapidly established himself as one of the show’s most popular heartthrobs.
While his Summer Bay character Tane has had a rough first year on screen, complete with similarly dramatic romance storylines, Ethan maintains a far more low-key personal existence.
The fact that the New Zealand native has a 13-year-old daughter, Aaylah, may have startled many.

Ethan uploaded beautiful footage of the moment he reconnected with Aaylah – who had no idea he was coming – on Instagram over Christmas in 2020.
“After almost a year apart, I surprised my daughter. For a long time, I’ve imagined and fantasised about this moment “Ethan gave his post a caption.
“This stretch has been quite difficult for me. It’s both indescribable and unfathomable. Our capacity to travel freely and physically be with our loved ones has been taken away by COVID.”

With Aaylah reportedly living in New Zealand and Ethan working on the Home And Away set in Australia, the actor expressed his thankfulness for being reunited with his child.
“But love transcends the physical, and the distance and lost time has only strengthened our bond. We’re here and now, and our hearts are full again ❤ ❤,” he wrote in the touching reunion video.
“To the parents who have been separated from their children because of this year’s events, and to those who can’t see their loved ones at Christmas, I send you all my love and strength. To my daughter, you are my entire heart. #Myangel #mylove #mylife.”

Taking his attention away from his acting career. To pay for his family, Ethan sought a degree in civil engineering, which led him to a position in Brisbane and finally back to his ambition of acting.
While the actor rarely discusses his daughter and has only shared one photo of her on social media, he has previously stated that performing was “frowned upon” in his hometown of Wairoa, New Zealand.
“I grew up in a little country village where rugby was the dominant sport. Acting was never something a man did, “Last year, he told the Daily Telegraph about it.
“In high school, I wanted to do it, but it was frowned upon by the lads since it wasn’t the tough masculine thing to do. I waited until I was in Australia, where no one knew who I was, to try it quietly “he continued.
