Home And Away viewers saw new character Xander Delaney played by Luke Van Os arrive at Summer Bay this week – and the actor no stranger to the limelight thanks to his Hollywood connections
Since his arrival in Summer Bay, Xander Delaney of Home and Away has set hearts racing.
On Wednesday (May 4), the hunky character made his first appearance on the show, showing up to find his half-sister Jasmine Delaney.
Actor Luke Van Os has joined the cast, joining fellow newcomer Kirsty Marillier in the role of Rose Delaney’s sister.
After their father died and they learned of her existence through a will reading, the two have been seen showing up to get to know their estranged sister.
Luke’s family life isn’t quite as difficult in real life, but it’s still fairly fascinating thanks to his renowned cousins.
Luke, 25, is no stranger to celebrities, thanks to his cousins, Chris and Liam Hemsworth, who are both actors.
Luke’s father, Robert, has a sister named Leonie, who is Chris and Liam’s mother.
Chris began his acting career as Kim Hyde on the Australian soap opera Home And Away from 2004 until 2007.
Luke has previously discussed how the two have encouraged him to pursue his dream of being an actor and given him sound advise.
He said: “Chris is in LA, but he watched my interviews on The Morning Show and Sunrise. I spoke to him right before because I was so nervous.”
He also explained how Chris is excited for him to follow in his footsteps with the soap role.
He added: “He loves it. He has been through everything I am going through now so for him to share that experience I think is really exciting.”
Luke also admitted that Liam has “been a huge support” too and helped to support him in his dreams.
“This market is so tough and difficult to navigate,” he added, “that having any kind of real guidance from someone who has been through it is such a godsend.”
“Just be calm,” Liam said when asked what advice he has given. And embrace it, knowing that nerves will never go away; the key is to get comfortable with them rather than afraid of them.
“Embrace it and know that it is a welcoming environment. Simply be yourself; don’t strive to be someone you’re not.”
Luke is an active social media user who frequently updates his fans on his personal life.
About his days off, the actor enjoys spending time with his fiancée Tonia and their gorgeous puppy, as well as updating his sister, cousins, and niece on his work.
Levi, his dog, takes pride of place in his posts and is affectionately referred to as his “son” in several of them.
Luke has inherited his cousins’ good looks and gives them a run for their money when it comes to a chiselled jaw and toned physique.
He keeps his admirers satisfied by posting numerous photos of himself flaunting his muscly figure and striking good looks.
Luke isn’t afraid to pose with a cute animal or two, which earns him additional cuteness points with his fans.
