The aftermath of Hendrix Greyson’s massive proposal when he asks his love Mackenzie Hargreaves to marry him has been verified by Neighbours.
Hendrix (Ben Turland) was recently diagnosed with pulmonary fibrosis, a dangerous lung illness he developed after being caught in the Erinsborough high school fire. He’s been told that if he wants to live, he’ll require a lung transplant within the next three years.
Hendrix and Mackenzie (Georgie Stone) decide to visit Hendrix’s family in Sydney this week, including his father Pierce, and, although not intending to, Hendrix ends up telling them about his illness when his sister Alana spots him acting strangely.
Hendrix then tells everything, and now that his health news is out in the open, he takes stock of his life and realises how important Mackenzie is to him, so he proposes to her.
The proposal’s fate will be revealed next week, with Mackenzie accepting Hendrix’s proposal and agreeing to marry him.
Hendrix’s family is overjoyed, and he leaves Sydney feeling closer to them all than ever before.
When they return to Ramsay Street, Hendrix and Mackenzie tell their friends and neighbours about their engagement and soak in the joy.
Later in the week, the couple throws an engagement party, and the entire street comes out to share their joy.
Hendrix is having a wonderful time with his family and is able to forget about his disease – until he receives the phone call of a lifetime. But what major news is Hendrix expecting?
Actor Ben, who plays Hendrix, previously revealed that his character’s proposal is “very much spur of the moment” and that Mackenzie makes Hendrix’s “a little less chaotic, and more wholesome”.
“She’s not expecting it!” he said of Mackenzie’s reaction to the big question while speaking to Inside Soap. “They’re young and with everything going on, it comes out of nowhere. But Hendrix knows what he wants, and he wants to get married…”
