Then came her fairytale romance: shortly after splitting up with her co-actor and fiancé Beau Brady in 2004, she began dating tennis star Lleyton Hewitt. It was a fast-paced relationship that resulted in her having three lovely children… and walking away from the limelight.
So, where has Bec gone and what has she been up to in the 17 years after she left our favourite beachfront drama?
What happened to Bec Hewitt?
Bec Hewitt was best known for her role as Hayley on Home and Away, which she played from 1998 to 2005. Despite her extended stay on the show, she did not pursue any ventures following her departure from Summer Bay.
After marrying tennis legend Lleyton Hewitt, Bec quit Home and Away when she became pregnant with her first child. She gave up her acting profession to raise her three children, Mia, Cruz, and Ava, who are now 15, 13, and 11 years old.
The family went underground for a decade, even relocating to the Bahamas for Lleyton’s profession for seven years.
However, Bec confirmed her return to television in 2018. Ray Martin, Denis Walter, Vince Sorrenti, and Sonia Kruger joined her as hosts on the travel show Helloworld. It was put on pause after three seasons because to the COVID-19 pandemic and never returned.
She then returned to Australian Dancing With The Stars in 2021, after winning the show’s first season in 2004.
Bec acknowledged to News Corp in 2018 that she never chose to stop performing.
“It just came naturally because I wanted to be there with the kids. I’d rather not miss anything… I am constantly with the children. Every second of every day. And I really like it “she remarked.
Last year, it was claimed that the Hewitt family had relocated from Melbourne to the Gold Coast, where they were focused on Cruz’s tennis career, while reports from 2022 suggest the family may have returned to eastern Sydney.
What does Bec Hewitt do now?
Bec has returned to motherhood after a few TV appearances over the last five years. She doesn’t seem to have any upcoming projects and isn’t very active on Instagram or other social media platforms.
She’s focusing on raising her children and developing their talents, but the Hewitt family won’t be forgotten!
Are Bec and Lleyton Hewitt still together?
For the past 17 years, Bec and Lleyton have been married and are still going strong. They first met when she was 16 and he was 18. She was on Home and Away, when she was paired with Lleyton in a charity tennis match.
She previously told Stellar, “I couldn’t play tennis, so it was rather ridiculous.” “He didn’t think my game was impressive; he just felt it was good that I tried.”
Bec was seeing her co-star Beau Brady at the time, while Lleyton was dating fellow tennis player Kim Clijsters of Belgium. As a result, they went a year without seeing one other.
“I sent him a text message to congratulate him on winning Wimbledon the year before, and then another one to congratulate him on winning the US Open – I hadn’t even seen it, my parents informed me about it, so I thought it’d be great to send him a text,” Bec recalled in the same interview.
However, they communicated back and forth, and when their respective relationships ended, he texted Bec to catch up.
“We made the decision to catch up, and things progressed from there. And I believe we saw each other every day from the first time we saw each other [at that time] “Bec stated.
“By the time of the Australian Open, we both realized we wanted to spend our lives together – and look at us now!” the couple said six weeks after publicly dating.

Mia, 16, is pursuing a career in fashion and was invited to the Dior presentation during Paris Fashion Week in 2019.

Ava, their youngest daughter, is now 11 years old and is an accomplished gymnast and dancer. When her mother was asked back as a contestant on Dancing With The Stars last year, she even did a solo performance.
Now that Lleyton is retired and Bec is semi-retired from the spotlight, it appears that both parents are focused on supporting and providing for their children.
“I love her so much and we have a great life together, and she produced three fantastic kids,” Lleyton previously told the Herald Sun.
