As Neighbours comes to an end, we’re looking back at all the incredible acting careers the soap kickstarted, including those of quite a few A-list Aussie stars.
Numerous local celebrities have lived on Ramsay Street throughout the years, whether it was for a single episode or several seasons of the popular soap opera.
Some remain for years, while others saw their TV and film careers soar to new heights after becoming known for their work on Neighbours.
Some even made it to the major leagues, rising to fame as Hollywood stars and cultural icons while never forgetting their humble beginnings.
In honour of the final Neighbours episode airing on July 28, 2022, we’re ranking the largest and most prosperous Ramsay Street celebrities.
Caitlin Stasey
She first appeared on television in 2005 as Rachel Kinski in Neighbours, and we instantly fell in love with her. However, Caitlin is now a well-known international TV personality who has been on shows including Reign, Please Like Me, and the courtroom drama series For the People.
She has gained more notoriety than many Ramsay Street inhabitants, but she isn’t nearly at the top of the charts.
Eliza Taylor
Eliza also joined the serial opera in 2005 as Janae Timmins, but she is best recognised for her portrayal of Clarke Griffin in the American dystopian science fiction series The 100.
The more than five-year run of the programme ended in 2020, by which time Eliza had essentially become a household name among viewers.
Natalie Imbruglia
There is no doubt Natalie earned enormous success following her appearance on the show in the 1990s. After all, everyone is familiar with the first few lyrics of her famous song Torn.
Before leaving Ramsay Street to pursue her singing career, the pop sensation spent three years playing Beth Brennan. And didn’t that work out well for her!
Liam Hemsworth
While Liam’s brother Chris had his debut on Home And Away, Liam picked Neighbours, though he also made an appearance on H&A, to make his debut as Josh Taylor in 2007.
Given his similar attractive looks and athletic build, it’s no surprise he’s become almost as well-known as his older brother.
Guy Pearce
Today, Guy is regarded as a serious drama actor, yet in 1985, he played Mike Young on Neighbours with celebrities like Kylie Minogue.
He stayed with the programme for a while before leaving to begin his film career, and as a result of his acting work, he has subsequently won an Emmy and been nominated for a Golden Globe. Sounds rather prosperous to us.
Delta Goodrem
She was destined to pursue acting. Delta began her career in 2002 as Nina Tucker on Neighbours, which helped establish her great music career, which ended up being significantly more successful than her acting career.
While her performance on the show wasn’t perfect, it’s obvious Delta was destined to become a music icon with pipes like hers.
Russell Crowe
It’s simple to forget that the Gladiator actor even made an appearance on Neighbours because he only did so in a handful of episodes in 1987 as Henry Ramsay’s old cellmate Kenny Larkin.
Russell didn’t have to play the cunning character for very long since he was too preoccupied launching his career as a leading man, for which he has already received an Academy Award, two Golden Globe Awards, and other accolades.
Margot Robbie
Although Margot is one of our favourites, she only takes second place this time.

Kylie Minogue
How on earth could Kylie not be first on this list? She has been a recognised music sensation for many years and is one of Australia’s top exports in the entertainment industry.
Following her debut in 1986 as the curly-haired Charlene Robinson, Kylie eventually traded in her classic lace bridal gown for a pair of gold booty shorts and went on to become a pop star. She is without a doubt the most successful former cast member of Neighbours and is still a well-known figure on a global scale today.
