Levi is not thrilled that Eden has invited Imogen for a surprise visit. Eden argues that it’s a great chance for them to reconnect, and playfully reminds him he’s lucky to have her. This weighs heavily on Levi as he tells Mackenzie there has been a change of plans – his wife is coming to the Bay.
Imogen arrives and Levi’s worst nightmare plays out when she and Eden decide the three of them should head to Salt. He sends a furtive text to Mackenzie to warn her.
Back in Levi’s hotel room, Imogen questions why he won’t come to bed. Levi covers by saying that he’s just short on sleep. When he does join her, she nuzzles into him. But as his eyes fix on the ceiling, Levi is clearly troubled – it’s not his marriage on his mind, it’s Mackenzie.
Meanwhile, Tane is reeling from the news that a suitable temporary foster family has been found for Maia. Harper’s assurances do little to comfort him. He lashes out at her when she won’t reveal the foster parents’ identity, and at Rose over the ongoing AVO preventing him from seeing the baby.
When Tane arrives home and finds that Mali has brought Rose to spend the night, tensions flare and a heated argument erupts. Things escalate until Mackenzie, haunted by thoughts of Levi with his wife, snaps at them to shut up.
The next day, Tane apologises to Harper, and even to Rose – he knows her hands are tied where it comes to baby Maia.
Mack sees Eden and Imogen outside the Surf Club and can’t resist approaching them. Before she has thought it through, Mack invites them up to Salt for coffee, on the house. She’s playing with fire, but will she be the one to get burned?
