Peter Ash, a star of Coronation Street, was spotted getting back together with a few of his old co-stars and going down memory lane to remember a part that was years before his one on the cobbles.
Earlier this month, there were poignant scenes when Peter was seen leaving the ITV soap opera after six years, 17 months after his character was given a motor neurone disease diagnosis in a dramatic plot that Corrie worked on with assistance from the MND Association.
Days after the tear-jerking scenes and actor Peter was reunited with his castmates as they swapped Weatherfield for London and the National Television Awards 2024.
And it ended up being a big night for the soap star as he scooped an award. He picked up silverware for his portrayal of Paul on the cobbles in the Serial Drama Performance category, days after his final scenes aired.
Now, Pete is enjoying his free time after his hard-hitting portrayal of an MND sufferer in Corrie ahead of his next role, which will see him star as Abanazar in Aladdin this Christmas at the Queen Elizabeth Hall in Oldham.
Over the weekend, Peter was among the stars heading to The Lowry to see War Horse as the National Theatre’s acclaimed production stopped off in Salford on its all-new UK and Ireland tour.
The actor was seen enjoying the afternoon at the theatre alongside former Corrie co-stars Jane Hazlegrove, who played on-screen mum Bernie Winter, and Dee-Dee Bailey actress Channique Sterling-Brown.
And it was a trip down memory lane for Peter as he was actually in the first national tour of War Horse, which also played The Lowry, playing Billy back in 2015.
Speaking at the performance, Peter, who grew up in Moston, said: “The puppets are incredible, the music is fantastic, so emotional, the visuals, it’s just got everything, it’s incredible.”
He added: “I was part of the original UK tour 10 years ago and yeah it’s just incredible, this is my first time seeing it from the audience point of view and it’s just, it’s so special. It’s really nice to come back and see it again. It’s still just as amazing as I remember it when I did it – emotional, inspiring and wonderful.”
