This month marks Asher Antonyzyn’s first anniversary of playing General Hospital’s Danny, and what better way for the 15-year-old to celebrate than with another batch of episodes about to air?
The teen, whose home base is in Illinois, took to Instagram to share that he’d recently spent a few weeks in Los Angeles working on the soap. “I’m so grateful to have spent the last month with my GH crew!” Antonyzyn wrote, captioning a trio of photos from his latest round at the soap’s studio. “Looking forward to seeing my family and friends back home in Chicago for a bit but can’t wait to get back here!”
After spending several years as a child model, Antonyzyn made his television acting debut on the soap last October during the Halloween episodes, where his character Danny joined half-brother Jake, Georgie, and Charlotte for a night of trick-or-treating. In his initial months on the show, the young star managed to hold his own in scenes alongside seasoned GH actors Kelly Monaco (Sam) and Rebecca Herbst (Elizabeth). However, he truly had the opportunity to shine when Steve Burton returned to the show in March 2024 as Danny’s father, Jason, allowing him to tackle more substantial material.
“When Steve Burton was returning as Jason, I thought, ‘Since Danny never really had a storyline with him, maybe I’ll be able to come back more often and work with him,’” Antonyzyn shared with Soap Opera Digest. “And then it happened! That was pretty cool.”
While the teen didn’t reveal any specifics about what’s next for his character, it’s likely that Danny will play a role in Sam’s exit storyline as Kelly Monaco’s final appearance approaches.
“Hope you all enjoy seeing Danny Morgan in Port Charles soon!” he teased.
