Steve Peacocke was the unforgettable “bad boy” of the 2010s as Darryl ‘Brax’ Braxton on Home and Away.

Almost a decade has passed, but fans would still love to see him back in Summer Bay. Since his time on the show, Steve’s life has taken a big turn—he recently celebrated ten years of marriage with his former Home and Away co-star and became a father for the first time.

How old is Steve and where is he from?

Born on October 30, 1981, Steve is now 43 and originally hails from Dubbo in New South Wales, Australia.

He studied communications at the University of Newcastle, where a drama class led by Glenn Hazeldine inspired him to pursue acting.

In his twenties, Steve worked various hands-on jobs, from unloading freight trucks to earning $3 an hour as a jackaroo, a role on sheep and cattle stations.

When did Steve and Bridgette get married?

Steve and Bridgette tied the knot in an intimate ceremony on December 24, 2014, after getting engaged on March 7 of the same year.

Having been together for almost a decade, Steve described their wedding as the “best day” of his life. The ceremony was officiated by a reverend from the Southern Highlands in Australia, and the couple celebrated the day surrounded by close family and friends. Steve shared that his wedding band is the only piece of jewelry he’ll ever wear.

Do the couple have children?

In 2022, Steve and Bridgette reportedly welcomed their first child. By June 2023, Bridgette was spotted out in Broken Hill, New South Wales, enjoying a day with their daughter.

The family had temporarily relocated to Broken Hill as Steve was filming the latest season of RFDS: Royal Flying Doctor Service.

In a 2023 interview with PerthNow, Steve shared a glimpse into fatherhood, saying, “You take it in your stride. It’s a bit less sleep, but it’s all good.”
