From new River Boys to the return of familiar faces, here’s what we know so far about Home and Away 2025.
In just over a month, Home and Away will return to our screens (and our hearts) for another year, with the show taking a short summer break until January 13, 2025.
The 2024 season finale left fans somewhat disappointed, as it was relatively calm until the final moments, when Cash Newman (Nicholas Cartwright) was seen kneeling over a bloodied and potentially lifeless Tim (George Pullar).
While it appeared that Cash was caught red-handed after weeks of pressuring Eden (Stephanie Panazzo) and Tim about their relationship, viewers know that Cash had actually gone to the secluded resort where Eden was staying with Tim and the Lyrik band to warn her about Tim’s former client, Nerida, who was on a vengeful rampage after claiming to have once been in a relationship with him.
So, what’s in store for Home and Away next? Let’s find out together
Everything we know so far about Home and Away 2025 (and that 2024 cliffhanger)
Did Cash kill Tim? Is Tim even dead? What was Nerida’s role in the dramatic last scenes of Home and Away 2024? All of this is expected to be answered fairly soon in January, but there are a few key things we already know.
Firstly, Nicholas Cartwright has been spotted filming 2025 scenes in his police uniform, so it’s safe to say Cash won’t be behind bars for murder or assault.
It appears Cash is busy arresting a whole bunch of new River Boys, so at least he’s doing his job for once. Supposedly.
Which Home and Away Characters Are Leaving in 2025?
Home and Away fans will be bidding farewell to Rose (Kirsty Marillier) in 2025, as the actress was spotted filming her final scenes in October, driving out of Summer Bay while her friends wave her off. Fans have speculated that Rose might be leaving for a promotion to detective in the big city.
Kirsty Marillier is also set to take on several new projects in the coming year, including starring in Picnic at Hanging Rock alongside Olivia DeJonge at the Sydney Opera House from February 17 to April 5, 2025.
There have also been rumors about Tane Parata (Ethan Browne) leaving the show. However, fans have spotted Ethan filming scenes at Palm Bay in recent months, suggesting that he’ll remain on our screens at least until mid-2025
Which Home and Away characters are returning in 2025?
Fans are very eagerly anticipating the return of beloved couple Dean and Ziggy (Patrick O’Connor and Sophie Dillman) who are making a special appearance for a “top-secret” storyline that was filmed in Far North Queensland.
“Speaking with The Daily Telegraph’s Confidential, Patrick divulged a little more about what fans can expect from the couple’s return. “There’s a bit of River Boy action, there’s a bit of road trips with them,” Patrick said. “I think it’ll be good to see where Dean is now, where they’re at now with their babies living away in Queensland, is all I’ll say.”
The return of the River Boys (and girl?!)
And speaking of the River Boys, a new wave of River Boys is set to hit the Bay in 2025, and while they only appear to be guest appearances (and one would predict, tied into Ziggy and Dean’s storyline) Rob Mellyonarie and Adam Peck are set to make waves as the tattooed bad boys.
But honestly… can we also have Rory back? Pretty please, Home and Away?
Rumours have also been flying there’ll be a River Girl introduced, potentially as a long-term character, with Back to the Bay reporting that a character named Lacey is set to appear in 2025, potentially played by actress Sophea Pennington, who is followed by a number of the Home and Away cast on Instagram.
Other new Summer Bay characters for 2025
It appears Amanda Bishop will be popping up in the Bay as a new doctor, but it’s yet to be confirmed for how long but fan sites are speculating she’ll be in at least three episodes.
You may recognise Amanda Bishop for her comedy portrayals of Julia Gillard and she’s also appeared in Law and Order: SVU.
