Ask ChatGPTHome and Away’s Lynne McGranger describes the moment that she found out about her Gold Logie nomination.
Video transcript
What happened briefly was that I think I was in, I can’t remember, it was either Belgium or Norway, I know that sounds weird, but we’d gone over and done some appearances for Home and Away, um, uh, in, in Ireland, in Belgium and in Norway, and I got a phone call from uh Jason.
Uh, a text saying, um, can you quickly chat on Zoom in an hour or so, cause obviously the time difference, I think it was like 5 in the morning, I looked like I’d been dragged through the hedges backwards, and I was trying to get ready to catch a plane to somewhere, and I was in a hotel in Belgium or Norway, I can’t even remember.
And, um, uh, he said, I’ve, uh, I’ve got Julie McGauran, our producer.
And I thought, well, they can’t fire me because I’ve already left.
I wonder what’s going on.
And she said, I just wanted to let you know that you’ve been nominated for a Silver Logie.
I’m like, oh my gosh, again.
I mean, who else?
And they said, well, we don’t know, we can’t tell you.
And I’m thinking, who else could it be, you know.
And then I was just about to go.
I said, guys, I’ve gotta go.
I’ve got a plane to catch.
And they went, oh, Julie goes, oh, but just before you go, there’s something else, you’ve been nominated for a gold as well.
Oh, I was just overwhelmed.
I couldn’t believe it, it was just um uh like it it was almost too good to be true.
I, I was so happy and, and delighted and all of those things.
So, you know, regardless of what, of course it’d be lovely to win.
I, I’d be a fool not to admit that, but, if I don’t, it doesn’t matter cos it’s been one hell of a ride, and, and this is like the, you know, the, the cherry on top of the best cake you’ve ever eaten.
