EastEnders: Penny Branning Targeted in Shocking Blackmail Plot

The pregnant market trader – who is played by actress Kitty Castledine in the BBC soap – is expecting her first baby with partner Vinny Panesar.

However earlier this week Penny realised that the dates given to her by the nurse at her first scan mean that Vinny can’t be the father.

Instead Penny is pregnant after a one night stand with ex Harry Mitchell.

And instead of managing to keep this a secret as she thinks she wants to – sh ended up letting slip to the worst person possible – Harry’s killer mum Nicola.

In tonight’s episode after Penny confided in Nicola about how the scan didn’t go as expected, Nicola realised something was amiss.

And then when Harry told her about his one night thing with Penny, Nicola realised the truth and wasted no time in blackmailing Penny into taking a DNA test.

Cornering her, Nicola said: “Not expected, the scan, that’s what you said. 

“Didn’t actually say why though. Is that Harry’s baby?”

As Penny tried to deny it, Nicola pushed on telling her: “Don’t kid a kidder. 

“You see I’ve put two and two together and it don’t quite add up to what you’re telling everyone. 

“A simple DNA test will clear that up. You do a test and show me the results and all this will be cleared up. 

“Unless of course you want me to go and talk to Harry and your fella and see what they think about all this? Up to you…”

Next week Penny will be forced to make a shock decision to keep her secret hidden.

But as the flash forward revealed that Jack is looking after a mystery baby called Ethan alone, does this mean that Penny will die before New Year’s?

And will her secret be exposed?
