EastEnders’ most evil murderer will make a shock return to Walford later this year it has been confirmed – His return will spark a huge storyline for a beloved character

EastEnders bosses have confirmed that the most evil murderer to ever enter Albert Square is set to make a dramatic return in the coming weeks. After last appearing on the BBC soap in 2024 super villain Eddie Knight will be upsetting the Walford residents in late Spring once again.

Eddie, portrayed by actor Christopher Fairbank, was last featured in a storyline two years ago when his racist crimes including killing adopted son George Knight’s biological father came to light.

Now it appears that George, who was bullied by Eddie for his entire childhood, will have to face a horrific reunion as his family is set to be at the heart of the explosive storyline once again.

A source told The Sun said: “Christopher Fairbank is returning as part of a new storyline that will see George Knight at the heart of the drama.

“Whilst it’s only a short stint, his return kicks off a bigger storyline that will spark troubling times for George and the wider Knight family.”An EastEnders spokeswoman has now confirmed the return, revealing: “We can confirm Christopher Fairbank will be returning to EastEnders for a short stint later this spring.”

Fairbank, 72, is an acclaimed actor having previously starred in blockbusters such as Tim Burton’s Batman, The Fifth Element, Pirates of the Caribbean, and Guardians of the Galaxy, plus previously gaining soap experience on Coronation Street.

He has reportedly already returned to the square and started filming his scenes.

Meanwhile, George, portrayed by actor Colin Salmon, is currently preoccupied with the birth of his daughter Ivy, who was born prematurely this month after mum Nicola Mitchell had an emergency cesarean.

George has been visiting the baby in NICU, where she’s been kept in an incubator due to being born at just 31 weeks gestation, whilst mum Nicola was made to stay away due to coming down with the flu post-birth.
