Will he survive the attack?

Home and Away‘s Tane Parata will be left fighting for his life this week, as his prison nightmare continues. After stepping in to defuse a volatile situation, Tane is brutally attacked by his fellow inmates. Will he survive long enough to clear his name?

In recent episodes, Tane finally decided to stop running from the law, despite being framed for a crime he didn’t commit. Following his escape to Western Australia, the new father returned to Summer Bay and handed himself into the police.

Since then, Tane has been trying to keep his head down in prison and stay out of trouble. But according to TVWeek, adjusting to life behind bars will prove challenging – especially when he notices some shifty behaviour.

In upcoming episodes, officer Cash Newman works hard to bring his friend home, after Darryl ‘Brax’ Braxton found evidence of Kerrie Matheson planting drugs in baby Archie’s cot.

The video footage proves Tane is innocent, but formalising his release will take time, and he just needs Tane to sit tight.

Meanwhile, in prison, Tane sees a gang of rowdy inmates cornering the friendly guard who helped him settle in, and he heads over to intervene. But before he can flex his muscles, he is tasered and beaten to a pulp by the criminals.

Tane is later found unconscious from the attack and is rushed to hospital with severe injuries. After being assessed, it’s revealed that the attack has left him in need of urgent surgery.

As Levi Fowler preps him for the operation, a devastated Jo Langham arrives on the scene. Jo is horrified to see Tane’s condition and racked with guilt over their recent relationship troubles, which have been lingering since Tane’s escape.

Will she get a chance to make things right? Or has Tane’s hero act cost him his life?
