EastEnders has aired the departure of one much-loved Walford resident as they struggle with a family feud
EastEnders has announced the sudden departure of a beloved character.
As devotees of the BBC soap will be aware, Jasmine Fisher (Indeyarna Donaldson-Holness) is currently incarcerated, awaiting her trial for the murder of Anthony Trueman (Nicholas Bailey) on Christmas Day.
Jasmine’s estranged twin brother, Josh Goodwin (Joshua Vaughan), recently turned up in Walford seeking answers about his sister and to reconnect with his biological family after learning Zoe Slater (Michelle Ryan) is his mother.
Earlier this week, Josh felt overwhelmed by Zoe’s efforts to bond and instead chose to connect with his grandfather, Patrick Trueman (Rudolph Walker), who is grappling with the loss of his son.

The CPS asked Patrick to record a video statement for Jasmine’s murder trial, causing the Truemans to worry that the situation might be too much for the elderly man to handle, reports OK!.
On Wednesday (April 1), the CPS continued to pressure Patrick to provide evidence ahead of Jasmine’s court date next week, leaving him feeling torn and overwhelmed.
Denise Fox (Diane Parish) suggested that Patrick should record his statement on video before taking a long trip away from Walford to “clear his head”, which would also allow him to avoid Jasmine’s trial.
Patrick asked, “Trinidad?” before Yolande Trueman (Angela Wynter) stepped in to encourage her husband: “You could come back after a few weeks when it’s all over.”

“Na, I can’t just walk away before I get justice for my son”, Patrick declared, dismissing the suggestion.
Yolande then advised her husband, “No father should have to endure what you’ve been through. You simply need to take a breather.”
Patrick agreed to visit his remaining son, Isaac Baptiste (Stevie Basaula), in Trinidad and also pledged to provide the CPS with his statement against his granddaughter Jasmine.
Next week, Patrick’s video submission to the CPS could threaten Jasmine’s prospects of freedom, leading dependable barrister Ritchie Scott (Sian Webber) to urge Kat Moon (Jessie Wallace) to provide a character reference in court on Jasmine’s behalf.

Kat refuses, leaving Zoe anxious that her son Josh will depart Walford if Jasmine is found guilty of Anthony’s murder, prompting her to rethink.
As the trial commences, the Truemans and Slaters remain at odds as Jasmine faces a pivotal decision.
She must either confess to her father’s murder or risk her future by taking the stand and denying the charges.
