Cameron Mathison Makes His Return to General Hospital!

Despite the impression that Drew hasn’t truly left, Cameron Mathison is back on the General Hospital set, filming new episodes! With a photo of himself outside the soap opera’s studio, the actor posted on Instagram, saying, “Missed Drew Q and my GH family.” “And now for this love triangle..” (He went so far as to include the hashtags #drewandwillow and #drewandnina in case followers were unaware of the triangle he was referring to, which seems improbable!)

Mathison got his big break when he made his daytime debut as Ryan Lavery on All My Children in 1998 and became a bonafide soap star. The actor parlayed that fame into numerous other roles in film and television over the years, even branching out into hosting for Entertainment Tonight and other shows.

He returned to daytime in August 2021 when he took over the role of Drew Cain on GH, and has continued to play the character even while also moonlighting as the host of the game show Beat the Bridge as well as playing Mike Kingston in multiple Hanna Swensen Hallmark movies. He recently shot the holiday movie Home Sweet Christmas with co-star Candace Cameron Bure for Great American Family.

Still, given that GH sometimes shoots episodes and scenes out of order (which is why you have Lindsay Hartley filling in for Sam again because those scenes were shot at the same time as the funeral), Drew has still been appearing on screen even as his portrayer is busy elsewhere.

And with Drew currently fighting his feelings for Willow while getting more mixed up with Nina (is pretending to be a power couple really going to help his congressional campaign?), there’s plenty of explosive drama to come! Because when this triangle blows up, it’s going to be beyond messy!
