Coronation Street fans are abuzz with theories that Kit Green’s biological father could be a former villain from the show’s past.
Kit, played by Jacob Roberts, joined the cast earlier this year as Bernie Winter’s (Jane Hazlegrove) long-lost son. Nearly thirty years ago, Bernie had put her son, Christopher “Kit” Green, up for adoption. Though she eventually tracked him down, Kit initially rejected her attempts to reconnect. Bernie’s twins, Gemma (Dolly-Rose Campbell) and Paul (Peter Ash), were stunned to learn they had another sibling.
Kit also played a pivotal role in the imprisonment of the sinister Nathan Curtis (Christopher Harper) by planting Lauren Bolton’s (Cait Fitton) DNA in Nathan’s van, setting him up for her supposed murder. Since then, Kit has stirred up plenty of drama on the cobbles and has even been a suspect in the recent mystery surrounding the notorious solicitor Joel Deering (Calum Lill). Joel’s body was found in a river in September, but a pathologist later confirmed that he had died before entering the water. Since arriving, Kit has remained an enigma, keeping fans guessing about his real motives.
Now, viewers have started piecing together clues about Kit’s possible paternity. On a Reddit thread, fans suggested that Kit might actually be the son of infamous Coronation Street villain Rob Donovan (Marc Baylis).
Rob’s son, Bobby (played by Jack Carroll), arrived in Weatherfield last year, sparking fan theories. One viewer speculated, “If Kit were Rob’s son, it could’ve been a great setup to weave a web of character connections within six months to a year.”
Other fans echoed this theory, with one saying, “I could totally see this happening.” Another fan chimed in, suggesting, “Rob was born in 1979, but they could easily make him a young dad.” A fellow viewer added, “Interesting theory—I could see it happening too.”
