While some Coronation Street inhabitants face certain death, a number of viewers now think that three criminals were more likely to be eliminated as their plots developed on screen.
Although a number of criminals have been prowling Coronation Street in an attempt to terrorize its inhabitants, viewers are certain that these characters will soon meet their demise.
At the helm of the Altovalent Institute, Rowan Cunliffe (Emrhys Cooper) has been preying upon Leanne Battersby (Jane Danson) and Amy Barlow (Elle Mulvaney), as well as their hard-earned money, while Joel Deering (portrayed by Calum Lill) has been frightening young girls on the cobblestones.
Elsewhere on the ITV soap, Abi Webster (Sally Carman) has been the target of a vicious revenge campaign as Stefan Brent (Paul Opacic) created pornographic deep fakes of the mechanic, posting them online after his son Corey was sentenced to 14 years in prison for murdering her son Seb in 2021.
In a more recent instalment of the Manchester-based drama, Abi’s stepson Jack Webster (Kyran Bowes) was sentenced for arson after setting Stefan’s office ablaze. And on Monday, (September 2, 2024), Abi received a huge shock when she was visited by Coral Brent – Stefan’s wife and Corey’s mother.
As drama is set to unravel on the cobbles, viewers have taken to Reddit to share their thoughts and many of them speculated that three women in Weatherfield will be taking action against the three men, killing them off.
In this scenario, Joel’s ex-fiancee Dee-Dee Bailey (Channique Sterling-Brown), Abi and Leanne would all conspire against their tormentors in a new murder storyline. But DS Lisa Swain (Vicky Myers) may have her own part to play.
“I’ve had a theory for a while now that the past few months the show has been building up to a big storyline where 3 female characters (Dee Dee, Abby and Leanne) are going to murder Joel, Stefan and Rowan”, one viewer wrote. “And then DS Swain will have an experience of sorts that will change her views on justice and right and wrong which will lead her to helping these 3 women covering up the murders they’ve committed.”
They then added, as Kit Green (Jacob Roberts) has locked horns with his boss, Lisa Swain: “Eventually Kit will find out and blackmail swain over it which will lead to some sort of big confrontation between the two.”
In a later comment, the fan explained their reasoning: “I just have a feeling that they’re going to try to outdo the “The Six” storyline that EastEnders did to get everyone talking about the show again.”
Although another fan argued with the theory, as they remembered Stephen Reid’s death and exit, a third responded: “Potentially as it would be Iain MacLeod’s answer to the Six.”
Joel Deering’s downfall is due to take place in upcoming scenes while Leanne Battersby has caught on to Rowan’s schemes on Wednesday, vowing revenge. And spoilers have since confirmed she’s set to make a huge discovery.
