Corrie’s Kit Actor Reveals Who Takes Down Bent Copper—And It’s Someone Close to Him

Exclusive: Jacob Roberts, who plays Kit Green in Coronation Street, has hinted at the character’s demise, and it appears that an unexpected local could be the one to do it.

The renowned serial opera Coronation Street star Jacob Roberts has alluded to a catastrophic demise for his character, Kit Green.

The long-lost son of Bernie (Jane Hazlegrove), the crooked constable, is about to have his “comeuppance from an unexpected resident.” He first emerged on the cobbles this year.

Kit, whose real name is Christopher ‘Kit’ Green, was given up for adoption by Bernie nearly three decades ago. After a lengthy search, Bernie finally found him a few months back, leaving her twins Gemma (Dolly-Rose Campbell) and Paul (Peter Ash) shocked to discover they had another sibling.

Adding to the drama, Kit played a crucial role in getting Nathan Curtis (Christopher Harper), a vile character, jailed for the murder of Lauren Bolton (Cait Fitton). He planted Lauren’s DNA in paedophile Nathan’s van, effectively framing him.

Since then, Kit has become a regular face on the cobbles, stirring up plenty of trouble. He’s even formed a working relationship with fellow officer Craig Tinker (Colson Smith).

In a shocking turn of events last month, he managed to force Craig’s mother, Beth Tinker (Lisa George), off the street after she tried to outsmart him.

Furthermore, Kit has some dirt on Craig. Craig confessed to Kit about covering up Faye Windass and Emma Brooker’s hit-and-run incident in 2021, which Kit has since used to his advantage.

Viewers of the hit series are eyeing Kit with suspicion due to his dodgy behaviour, sparking theories he might be linked to the shady Joel Deering (Calum Lill), who has a history of abusing and grooming Lauren Bolton (Cait Fitton).

Soap favourite Jacob Roberts, who portrays Kit, hinted to Daily Star and other outlets about an unexpected Weatherfield citizen who might just be Kit’s undoing. He enthused about the dynamic between his character, Kit, and Craig, commenting on their unique bond.

Jacob was quoted saying: “Yeah, I love that! ” when discussing the leverage Kit holds over Craig, and further expressed his views on their connection: “In a way it looks like I’m bullying him, or this that and the other, but I think he does like it Craig.”

He also claimed, “And I think they are a good combo.” Spilling the beans on a potential downfall for his character, Jacob teased: “I always say to Colson, I bet it’s you that gives me my comeuppance.”

Jacob joined the Coronation Street cast earlier this year after a six-year stint as Damon Kinsella in Hollyoaks. He shared his excitement about his new gig, mentioning: “It’s absolutely amazing to be joining the cast of Coronation Street.

“When I walked on set for the first time it felt a bit overwhelming because the attention to detail is just incredible, it actually makes you feel that you are on a real street.”
