Coronation Street icon Dee-Dee Bailey (played by Channique Sterling-Brown) has been through an intense ordeal recently, shaken by Joel Deering’s (Calum Lill) cruel behavior and subsequent murder.
Dee-Dee and Joel had been engaged, but after discovering his grooming and abuse of Lauren Bolton (Cait Fitton), she quickly broke off the engagement and was determined to bring him to justice.
Working with DS Lisa Swain (Vicky Myers), Dee-Dee gathered substantial evidence, leading to Joel’s arrest and charges for his actions.
However, he never faced the consequences, as he failed to appear in court for his plea hearing.
The situation then escalated when Joel’s body was found, and his death was officially ruled a murder.
In the weeks after, Dee-Dee wrestled with guilt over an attack on Joel with a crowbar on the night he died.
In a recent episode, she admitted her actions to DC Kit Green (Jacob Roberts), who immediately arrested her.
But, she was soon released as new evidence emerged, proving Joel wasn’t killed by a crowbar.
In upcoming scenes, Dee-Dee wakes up horrified from a nightmare, deeply shaken.
Overwhelmed, she abandons an important client meeting to break down in distress.
