EastEnders fans are certain that Sharon Watts (Letitia Dean) won’t be making a return to Walford if her half-brother Zack Hudson (James Farrar), who is thought to have tragically died in the recent car crash, is in fact dead.
On Tuesday (May 27), Teddy Mitchell’s (Roland Manookian) car took a terrifying plunge into a lake after Zack seized control of the steering wheel in a panic-stricken moment.
This shocking event followed Harry Mitchell (Elijah Holloway) striking Zack over the head and bundling him into his boot before speeding away. The scheme was a desperate bid to prevent Zack from revealing to Barney (Lewis Bridgeman) that he is his biological father, not Teddy.
In Wednesday’s episode (May 28), Harry let out a scream as he feared his dad, Teddy, had perished before he emerged from the lake seemingly unscathed.
Teddy informed Harry, Billy (Perry Fenwick), and Honey (Emma Barton) that he attempted to rescue Zack, but he was nowhere to be found in the water, reports Belfast Live.
Honey dialled for an ambulance, but she and Billy were dealt another blow when they discovered that vulnerable Nigel Bates (Paul Bradley), who is battling dementia, had disappeared.
Teddy and Honey eventually located Nigel in a disoriented state in the woods, although he recalled that Teddy was behind the wheel when the car crashed.
The Mitchells quickly came to the grim conclusion that Zack must have drowned, and Teddy braced himself for the fallout. However, Honey proposed that they deceive the police and claim that Teddy’s car was stolen instead.
Grief may once again hit Albert Square as Sharon’s brother, Zack, faces an uncertain fate.
Rumours are swirling around Walford that the Mitchells might be implicated in this latest shock, while fans of the show speculate it could signal the end for Sharon on EastEnders.
Sympathy and speculation abound on social media, with viewers expressing their concerns for Sharon, who has previously suffered great losses, including the death of her son Denny.
One fan tweeted the prediction: “Sharon’s never coming back from America if her people keep dying is she #eastenders.”
Another viewer shared: “Sharon probably won’t return to the square after losing Zack, when will her cruel torment end??? #EastEnders.”
