EastEnders’ Linda Carter (Kellie Bright) is set to say goodbye to The Queen Vic after more than a decade and viewers are convinced she will take on a new job

EastEnders’ landlady Linda Carter (Kellie Bright) is preparing to bid farewell to The Queen Vic after more than a decade of pulling pints.

Linda’s mum and business partner, Elaine Peacock (Harriet Thorpe), have decided to sell the pub, following Linda’s long-term battle with alcoholism and reaching six months of sobriety.

The monumental decision also comes on the heels of Elaine’s split from her husband, George Knight (Colin Salmon), who demanded his investment back from the pub.

Convinced it was time to “move on”, Linda and Elaine agreed to flog The Vic and start anew.

Next week, Linda spills the beans to Kat Moon (Jessie Wallace) that the pub is going under the hammer, and the news quickly circulates around Albert Square, reports Belfast Live.

Ian Beale (Adam Woodyatt) expresses interest in expanding his business portfolio and pledges to make a bid.

However, he’ll face competition from Stacey Slater (Lacey Turner) and Kat, who are also keen to put in an offer after a scratchcard win.

Despite much speculation about who will be the new landlord or lady of the iconic pub, some EastEnders fans predict that Linda will embark on a completely new career path.

In recent years, Linda has grappled with the presumed death of her beloved Mick Carter (Danny Dyer), an autism diagnosis for son Ollie, and her own struggle with alcohol addiction.

Given her life experience, kind-hearted nature and support for the local community, some fans are predicting that Linda will become a counsellor in a new career overhaul.

One fan pondered on Reddit, “What should Linda do next? Where will she live?”.

Another enthusiast responded: “I’d like to see her train to be a counsellor of some sort. She’s got the life experience and background to thrive in that sort of position.”

Joining the conversation, a third contributor said: “She’d be brilliant at it”, and yet another came through with a suggestion: “Linda and Zack team up (business only). Zack should absolutely be running a mentor program for the teen boys and Linda a counsellor.”

Further adding to the speculation, another chimed in: “I could see her training to become a counsellor. I could also see her being inspired by Ollie and training to support a child in education”.
