EastEnders this week had some really high highs with Kat and Elaine both back where they belong, and some pretty low lows from Joel’s grim online viewing, to Oscar’s violence, and Suki’s manipulation. And all in all, there was a lot going on!
Here’s what we thought of it all in our review of EastEnders this week.

Joel’s bad behaviour in EastEnders this week
Things got real for Vicki and Ross this week as they realised the extent of Joel’s anti-women ideas.
After Ross found out that Joel’s mum – Cleo – was remarrying, Joel’s bad behaviour spiralled. He insulted Kat, and then things got much worse.
Ross tried to connect with his son, even watching the influencer who Joel was parroting. But then he found the creepy videos Joel’s been making of unaware women and he was FUMING.
Vicki was furious as well when she found out – goodness knows how she’ll react when she finds out he filmed him and Avani having sex.
Despairing, Ross dunked Joel’s laptop in the sink, and laid down the law. But then he bought Joel a new computer about ten minutes later. Good work, Ross. That’ll do it.
We have to say though, we laughed out loud at Joel thinking he can take on Stacey. Much tougher men than him have tried, and they’ve all failed. He doesn’t stand a chance!

EastEnders this week: Avani’s still up the duff
Speaking of Joel, across the Square, Avani was still pregnant with his baby. We thought it was super odd how Eve – who’d been so against the whole buying-the-baby plan – suddenly changed her mind about it overnight.
Suki is being so manipulative and unpleasant about this, that’s it becoming hard to watch. We’re not on board with this plot, at all!

Oscar attacked Patrick
Meanwhile, another troubled teenager – Oscar – turned very nasty this week. He was so scared of Fat Mike that he took matters into his own hands, and robbed Patrick of his winnings.
As an aside, has there ever been a villain less frightening than Fat Mike? When he was trying to intimidate Lauren we very firmly felt that Lauren was way more scary than he could ever be!
Anyway, Oscar shoved Patrick, nicked his cash, and landed the poor elderly groom-to-be in a hospital bed, traumatised by everything that had happened. Lauren told Oscar that he had to take the consequences of what had happened, making her just about the only person in Walford speaking sense this week.
But when the police arrived, Lauren, in her wisdom, decided to give Oscar an alibi after all.
So there’s Zoe, Oscar and Joel who have all got themselves into trouble, only for their families to keep bailing them out again and again. We definitely think it’s time some of these Albert Square troublemakers to start paying for their actions!

Kim and Howie on the rocks
Meanwhile one of our favourite Albert Square couples – Kim and Howie – seem to have hit the rocks overnight and Howie’s becoming a calculating, money-grabbing, resentful chap.
Is this all because he overheard Kim comparing him to Vincent? Possibly!
It’s a little odd and we’re sad because Kim and Howie are great together. But, you know, it’s moving the plot along we suppose.

Perfect positions
When Cindy took over at The Albert, it was like she belonged there. We’d just started questioning the point of her return when she got a whole new lease of life behind the bar. And now Elaine has joined her. And they are the most perfect pairing.
Sometimes in soap a partnership works so well that they each make the other more likeable and that’s definitely true here. We love them together.
And speaking of perfection. Kat behind the bar at The Vic is just that.
We’re pretty sure we weren’t the only people who did a little airpunch when she screamed: “Get out of my pub!” Were we?
