EastEnders fans are convinced they have “worked out” who Stacey Slater’s new love interest will be, following the tragic death of Martin Fowler in last week’s huge 40th anniversary live episode
EastEnders devotees reckon they’ve worked out Stacey Slater’s next romantic venture following the shocking demise of Martin Fowler.
Last week, the BBC One soap left viewers in a state of despair when Martin, played by James Bye, was written out during the 40th anniversary live episode.
He found himself trapped inside the Queen Vic with Stacey after an explosion.
The plot thickened dramatically when Martin was crushed under a falling metal beam. As he waited for paramedics with Stacey by his side, he poured his heart out to her, declaring his love.
n poignant scenes, knowing his time was running out, the ex-lovers reignited their spark and Martin proposed – to which Stacey agreed.
However, the episode ended on a tragic note as Martin passed away, leaving Stacey sobbing while clutching his chest.
Now, fans are already speculating about who Stacey will find love with next – and they’re betting on a returning Walford favourite, reports Plymouth Live.
Stacey has been a mainstay on the soap for years, and it’s safe to say she’s had a string of romances during her tenure.
She famously tied the knot with the much-loved Bradley Branning, played by Charlie Clements, back in 2007, and who could forget her scandalous affair storyline with his father Max Branning, played by Jake Wood.
Stacy was also wedded to Martin from 2016 to 2010 and they share a daughter, Lily. Stacey also had another steamy affair with Kush Kazemi, played by Davood Ghadami, and dated Kheerat Panesar, played by Jaz Deol.
Adding to the drama in 2024, Stacey shared a scandalous moment with another member of the Branning dynasty – Jack, played by Scott Maslen. However, EastEnders devotees reckon they’ve figured out her next romantic plot twist on the BBC series.
Bring Back Kheerat for Stacy! ” one enthusiast exclaimed on an EastEnders Facebook fan group. Another echoed: “Yes! ! ! ! Absolutely. Kheerat return.”
A third added their voice, saying: “I would love to see him back. Stacey needs him.”
The character Kheerat was last spotted in 2022, landing himself behind bars after he heroically shouldered the guilt for Ranveer Gulati’s murder to shield his mother Suki Panesar.
