Emily Weir and her Home and Away co-star Tristan Gorey have a red-hot chemistry on-screen, but are they in a relationship in real life, too?
That’s the question many fans are asking.
Gorey, the show’s newcomer who is nominated for a Best New Talent at this year’s Logie Awards, loves to share behind the scenes of Home and Away on his Instagram.
It’s prompted many to notice the close relationship he seems to have with Weir.
Is Emily Weir dating Tristan Gorey?
On-screen, the pair are involved in a steamy romance, with Gorey playing Levi Fowler, brother to Eden Fowler (Stephanie Panozzo).
He gets involved with Weir’s character Mackenzie Booth, whose previous relationships haven’t worked out all that well!
In a recent video shared on the Home and Away Instagram account, the actors took part in a “best friends challenge” to see how well they knew each other.
Weir successfully vouched for Gorey’s love of country music, but she was taken aback when he said she liked cats more than dogs (clearly not the case!)
After completing the challenge they exchanged cute compliments about each other, with Weir saying she liked Gorey’s kindness.
“If someone was like, ‘Do you want to take away his humour or his kindness, I’d say take away his humour, because I’d rather you be kind,” she said.
Gorey said she Weir was “generous” with her time and affection.
Their natural ease with one another wasn’t dampening many fans’ enthusiasm for the concept of them as an off-screen couple.
“I love you guys as a couple on Home and Away, I wish you guys went out in real life, perfect match,” one fan wrote.
That prompted Gorey to reply: “She could only dream!”
“Maybe she does?” another fan cheekily responded.
“Love, love this. Love Em and Tristan’s banter and friendship so much,” one person wrote beneath the video.
“These two have so much chemistry off-screen too. They’d make a cute couple,” agreed another.
But it seems a real-life romance isn’t really on the cards.
In one Instagram post, Gorey joked about Weir being a “fricking nightmare” to work with.
“She’s always so positive and kind,” he wrote. “She hates it when I call her generous.”
When a fan asked if Gorey could start dating Weir in real life, he tagged his co-star and asked her the question.
But Weir’s response – a shake of the head and a no – put paid to any thoughts fans might have of a real-life romance.
Oh well, one can dream, right?

The answer is … unknown! Weir keeps her private life under wraps and it’s not currently known if she’s dating anyone in particular.
In the past she has talked more generally about previous relationships without naming names.

Asked about her idea of a perfect date, she said: “A good meal, an open fire, some music and a game of cards or a board game.”
And she revealed a little about one of her favourite nights out with a date – again without naming names.
“I was dating someone when I was living in Europe whom I met on a Contiki tour,” she revealed.
“We went out for drinks in bars around Prague and that was pretty cool.”

Again, unknown. In a recent interview after his Logie nomination, he described Weir as a “close friend.”
“I really love working with Emily Weir. I consider her a close friend,” he said.
“We’re always asking each other questions about philosophy.
“I’m really lucky to be working with her.”
