EMMERDALE favourite Marlon Dingle hasn’t been himself in recent episodes of the ITV soap but could it be down to a secret illness he’s been harbouring? A shock twist could see him receive a rather bleak diagnosis.
Marlon (Mark Charnock) is outraged because The Woolpack burned down on Christmas Day, putting his and his family’s finances in jeopardy. He has directed his rage towards both Al Champan (Michael Wildman) and Cain Dingle (Jeff Hordley), claiming that their quarrel on Emmerdale is to blame for his misfortune.
However, on Friday night’s episode of the ITV soap, the chef began acting out of character, leading viewers to believe he was about to be diagnosed with a life-threatening illness.
When the Dingle cousin discovered Cain’s efforts to assist with the sale of the pub had resulted in the contract with developers falling through, he was furious.
Although neither Marlon nor Chas Dingle (Lucy Pargeter) wanted to sell their business, they believed that selling to the developers Al worked for was the only way they could prosper.
Their insurance company refused to pay for the fire, putting them in a position where they had no choice but to make a bargain with the devil.
Because Cain had ruined their last chance to obtain some cash, Marlon flew off the handle and went to the farm to face his cousin.
“What the hell do you think you’re playing at?” the father of two yelled, to which the bad boy of the village replied: “I was trying to help sort out the mess that you and Chas had got yourselves in.”
“Sticking your nose has made matters worse,” Marlon told him flatly as his cheeks turned redder and his voice grew louder.
“You’ll give yourself a thrombosis…it can’t be that horrible,” Cain said the father of two, trying to calm his cousin down.
“It’s even worse, you moron. “You’ve ruined any hope we had of getting back on our feet,” the chef said, “without a second’s thought for your own sister or myself.””
“And there was me thinking you’d step up with Al out of the equation,” Cain replied, finally fighting back against the barrage of venom he was receiving.
Angrier than ever, Marlon declared: “It’s always about you, isn’t it? You and your stupid feud with stupid Al. What happened to family comes first, Cain?”
“What will we get for that, Cain? A tenner? I can’t raise my kids on that. I can’t pay my mortgage on that,” he continued as he didn’t calm down whatsoever.

On Twitter, viewers reflected on Cain’s thrombosis remark and agreed that the chef could be getting himself extremely sick.
“Easy Marlon you’ll cause yourself a heart attack if you don’t calm down my buddy #Emmerdale,” said Zombie 404, a fan of the show.
“Oooh was that Marlon yelling I didn’t see,” Sistah posted on the social media platform. “He went a bit red didn’t he #emmerdale.”
“After this scenario, I’m truly concerned about Marlon’s safety. Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa Marlon is the most enraged I’ve ever seen him “Conran added to the speculation, implying that the chef could be given a terrible diagnosis.
Thrombosis occurs when blood clots obstruct the veins or arteries leading to the heart, resulting in a variety of issues.
According to the John’s Hospice Medicine website, this can range from numbness on one side of the body to heart attacks or strokes.
Although Marlon had severed relations with the village’s bad boy by the end of the episode, his financial worries could exacerbate the symptoms of thrombosis.
As he tries to find a way out of his predicament, the father of two may suffer a heart attack and be rushed to the hospital.
With the help of medical professionals, he may be diagnosed with thrombosis and put on beta-blockers to try to restore his heart’s natural rhythm.
They could issue a dire warning that if he continues to stress, he will die young due to the toll it will take on his health.
While some viewers were concerned about Marlon’s safety, others appreciated seeing a more fiery side to the usually bland figure.
On Twitter, Jules wrote: “Who’d have guessed Marlon would lash out at Cain like that back in the day? Cain, when he was younger, would have beaten him up.”

Mark, the actor who plays Marlon, appears to have no plans to leave the program anytime soon, since he appears to be enjoying all of the drama his character is involved in.
“I never, ever, ever look beyond a contract,” the soap star remarked. For the past ten years, I’ve been doubled over with laughter. With all the fun I’ve had, my back is starting to hurt.
“It’s true that I’m fortunate. I play a character who gets a lot of comedy and also gets some fantastic drama every now and then.
“As a result, the show satisfies my aesthetic desire.” I, on the other hand, never plan beyond the next contract. It’s a bit arrogant.
“I never presume I’m going to stay, but if they offer me another contract, that’s great,” he said in an interview with Digital Spy.
