The drug has taken a toll on Lulu’s organs after she has been in a coma for almost four years, and it will soon run out of time.
We have to wonder who will step forward to save Lulu’s life while altering everyone else’s as everyone who cares about the Spencer family and Lulu congregates around her to be tested as a possible match.
General Hospital Spoilers — The Donor May Not Be Lucky
Rather, the donor may not be so lucky — as to survive this. Laura Collins (Genie Francis) has already made Nikolas Cassadine (Adam Huss) aware that the surgery isn’t without its risks.
That’s a statement we’ll probably hear over and over again as people get tested in hopes that they’ll be able to save Lulu’s life. But is that mere informed consent, or is it also foreshadowing of what’s to come for the person who gives up their own life to spare Lulu’s?
GH Spoilers Tease the Surgery is Complicated
Not only are we considering that the person who donates their life to Lulu may lose their own life in the process, but the surgery may not necessarily be without complications.
For Lulu, this a riskier process than it normally would be as it is. She’s been in a coma all of this time and her body is hardly as strong as that of a person who was battling liver failure but awake, mobile, and able to convey how they are feeling and what side effects they may be experiencing.
There may be setbacks along the way, and concerns that Lulu could die during the surgery, or post-op if her fragile body rejects the transplant.
General Hospital Spoilers — Surgery Could Spur Drastic Change
On the other hand, there is plenty of room for optimism here. While so many things could go wrong, we sense that a miracle could be on the horizon for Lulu and her loved ones — and it will change everything.
This is an uphill battle from where everyone is sitting right now. They don’t know if a liver will be found in time to save Lulu, and even if it is, they don’t know how dangerous this life or death surgery will be.
They’re certainly not expecting cake or death, but rumor has it the transplant and surgery could stimulate Lulu’s body so much that it brings her back out of the coma. Will that be permanent? Stay tuned for more GH news and spoilers to see how this shakes out.
