According to General Hospital spoilers, viewers were taken aback when they learned that Kelly Monaco (played by Sam McCall), who had been on the program for more than 20 years, was let go.
Even though there is a sizable campaign on to overturn the decision to fire Monaco, viewers should still get ready for the show to kill Sam, as has been speculated. Since Sam’s death is now almost certain, let’s examine how Jason Morgan (Steve Burton) will be affected by Sam’s passing.
General Hospital Spoilers – Jason Morgan and Sam McCall were a true supercouple
Jason and Sam were the loves of each other’s lives for many years until Jason disappeared and was presumed dead the first time. During that time, Sam believed that Drew Quartermaine (then Billy Miller) was really Jason instead of his identical twin.
By the time the real Jason returned, Sam had made a life with Drew. Eventually Sam and Jason got back together but Sam later dumped Jason for good when she realized Jason’s deadly lifestyle could bring harm to their son, Danny Morgan (Asher Antonyzyn).
GH Spoilers – Jason Morgan was believed dead for a second time!
After Jason returned a second time, Sam was more angry with Jason than anything, especially once she realized that Jason let everyone believe he was dead in order to protect Carly Spencer (Laura Wright).
At first, she forbade Jason from seeing Danny at all even though she eventually eased up a bit on that. Sam also moved on romantically, finding love with Dante Falconeri (Dominic Zomprogna). Jason really hasn’t had a chance to reflect on his feelings for Sam.
General Hospital Spoilers – Sam McCall’s death will change Jason Morgan
If Sam really does die, Jason will be forced to confront his feelings for his ex. His love for Sam will likely come flooding back to the surface and once he begins to process his feelings for her it could certainly close his heart for a very long time.
Jason may never be able to fall in love again after Sam’s death, instead focusing on raising Danny and his friendships with Sonny and Carly among other. It would take someone very special for Jason to love again.
