Rumors and spoilers for General Hospital hint at a potential leak that has been discussed in the past. Someone who could be aware of what goes on behind the scenes at GH believes what many do, and it appears to follow a trend that has emerged recently.
General Hospital Spoilers: The Tweeter Thinks Budget Cuts Are Behind Kelly Monaco’s Firing
The tweeter, who writes for an online soap opera magazine thinks budget cuts are behind Kelly Monaco’s firing and the killing off of Sam McCall and it seems to fit a pattern.
Roger Howarth’s character of Austin Gatlin-Holt was killed off right before the return of Steve Burton as Jason Morgan-Michael Easton as Hamilton Finn was let go more recently. Almost as soon as Michael was let go, Jonathan Jackson’s return as Lucky Spencer was announced.
Albeit many feel GH has a bloated cast, it seems they let go a popular actor and shortly thereafter hire or rehire a possibly more expensive one. Could they really have made the decision to fire Kelly in order to afford Vanessa Marcil as Brenda Barrett-this tweeter apparently thinks so!
GH Spoilers: Possible Hints In The Storyline, Anvils Dropped?
There has been past speculation about Gio Palmieri (Giovanni Mazza) being Brenda’s son Alec Barrett (Quinn Friedman) with Aleksander Janáček (Antonie Knoppers).
Janáček was a mobster who Brenda shot and killed in self-defense, and while Brenda and Alec did move to Italy, Gio has confirmed his mother was deceased.
She was Italian and an opera singer, and he never knew his dad who was killed in action in Afghanistan-when his mother died the Cerullo family took him in.
Brenda’s never been an opera singer nor is she deceased although she has been recently mentioned in a scrapped storyline-related to L & B Records. However, there is another situation Brenda was involved in years ago that could be retconned to make another character a second son.
General Hospital Spoilers: Who’s “Mom” On Dex Heller’s Phone?
Granted, there would have to be a lot of retconning done as well as SORASING (Soap Opera Rapid Aging Syndrome) to make this work, but it could bring Brenda back on.
A recent episode showed a confusing scene where Dex Heller (Evan Hofer) answered his phone and the caller ID showed “Mom”-Dex first was introduced as an orphan. Later, he spoke about being in an abusive family, although possibly adopted.
Considering in real time this storyline happened ten years ago or so, they could make Dex, possibly his real mother found, Brenda’s son. She and Dante Falconeri (Dominic Zamprogna) had a child who supposedly died, while Brenda was in Africa-will Brenda turn out to be Dex’s real mother and Dante his father?
