The lives of some of Summer Bay’s residents could be in danger as part of a new train stunt on Home and Away. The storyline will kick off in the coming weeks, with a new promo teasing what’s to come.

The clip, which hasn’t been officially released yet, sees a number of characters on a train, which crashes inside a tunnel (via TV Tonight).

Some frontline workers, including Sgt David Langham (Jeremy Lindsay Taylor), attend to the scene, with some trapped inside facing grave danger.

Who will make it out alive?

In other Home and Away news, former star Kate Ritchie has confirmed she has no plans to return to her role of Sally Fletcher after last appearing in 2013, despite rumours that she could be set for a comeback.

“The show is doing so well, it doesn’t need Sally anymore,” she told Fitzy & Wippa with Kate Ritchie, admitting that the soap has “moved on” and Sally has a “nice life somewhere”.

However, she remained open to the idea if she were asked, though stressed: “That’s a chapter of my life that’s done.”

During the chat, Kate revealed that she had been approached by producers in the past about potentially returning to Home and Away.

She then added: “I think I sat down maybe about five years ago and watched one episode, but I couldn’t bear seeing other people living in my house and sitting on my couch for a while.”

Last year, Kate addressed the idea of a comeback, telling TV Week: “They didn’t kill me off so I guess I could probably head back one day, but it feels like a lifetime ago now. And it’s very well looked after without me there, so I don’t think so.”
