Home and Away Kirby star’s life – b*k*ni snaps, soap dream and musical past

Angelina Thomson achieved her lifelong dream when she landed her role as Kirby on Australian soap Home and Away and the actress is showing no signs of slowing down

One of the newest Summer Bay beauties delighting viewers around the world in the Australian soap opera Home and Away is actress Angelina Thomson.

The stunning beauty made her acting debut as Kirby, one of the band Lyrik’s four newbies.

She is starring with her on-screen band members, guitarist Remi (Adam Rowland), lead vocalist Bob (Rob Mallett), and Eden (Stephanie Panozzo).

Angelina is a Cook Island Mori and has publicly discussed her desire to portray her culture on screen.

After having a prosperous career in musical theatre, that ambition has now come true.

Let’s look at Angelina’s life off camera, from her opulent lifestyle to landing her dream position.

Musical past

Angelina initially explored a career as a theatre actress and vocalist, but she was always eager to pursue a career in the spotlight.

Angelina made her professional debut in the Australian premiere of Beautiful: The Carole King Musical after receiving her Bachelor of Musical Theatre degree.

Angelina was also included in Opera Australia’s 2019 staging of West Side Story on Sydney Harbour as well as the renowned rock musical Rent, both of which were performed at the Sydney Opera House.

She played Megan Jones in the play PUFFS, one of her biggest theatre roles to date.

In response to a question about what first made her want to perform, Angelina said to thefamereporter.com: “I suppose my ethnic dancing is what initially inspired it.

“My Mum is from the Cook Islands and taught me how to Hula as soon as I could walk, so performing was introduced to me very early on.”

Soap dream

With a Cook Island Mori mother and an Australian father, Angelina claims that when she was growing up on the Gold Coast, there weren’t many people who looked like her on television.

“My family watched Home And Away every night at 7 o’clock,” she explains, “and the little Gold Coast girl I was back then was like, ‘How can I do that? How can I access Home And Away?

And now, at the age of 26, I’m there, however many years later. It gives me a little pinch-me feeling. I’m not lying.

It wasn’t until the Paratas, Home And Away’s first Mori family, were cast in 2019 that Thomson began to feel hopeful about having her own role on the programme.

According to Thomson, “I recall seeing them and they had traditional names and would give grace and sing and talk Mori.”

“Prior to that, I had considered that I might need to temporarily relocate to New Zealand in order to attend auditions for shows like Shortland Street.

But now that I might have that opportunity in Australia, where I grew up, I feel quite grateful.

“On my first day on set, I had a teary moment. I just started crying. I was like, ‘I can’t believe this is happening. The dream is now the reality. I feel really, really blessed to be here’.”

Bikini snaps

Angelina grew up near some of the most beautiful beaches in the world on the Gold Coast in Queensland, Australia.

And the singer frequently poses in a bikini in a string of glamorous Instagram photos to showcase her lovely surroundings.

She may be seen in one steamy photo sporting a navy blue bandeau bikini top and matching small bottoms.

The skimpy bikini bottoms featured a rainbow of colours and a pair of string that tied together over her hips, holding them together.

She shot a relaxed smile at the camera and showed off her natural beauty with no make-up.

Another snap show her once again showing off her curvaceous figure in a black bikini as she poses with her head resting adorably on a pal’s shoulder.

The trio are seen posing for an intimate snap as they enjoy the gorgeous Australian sunshine.
