Mia’s (Anna Samson) grief journey is far from done, as she is still reeling from Ari’s (Rob Kipa-Williams) death from an aggressive, fast-acting cancer only hours after their wedding. Night after night, she’s been sleepwalking, and Tane (Ethan Browne) has been staying up to make sure she doesn’t put herself in harm while she’s asleep.
Mia is regretful the morning after her latest sleepwalking incident and fears she is interfering with Tane and Felicity’s (Jacqui Purvis) relationship. She starts to wonder if she’s as well as she thought she was. Later, during a conversation between Tane and Felicity, Felicity says she recognises the signs of a breakdown and that Mia could benefit from professional care.
Tane gets a call from Ziggy (Sophie Dillman) reporting Mia has kicked everyone out of the gym so she can lock herself in the office, almost confirming Felicity’s suspicions. Mia is slumped against the office wall when Tane runs to the gym. She attempts to brush it off at first, but then she grows more open and admits that she is afraid of losing her mind.
Tane suggests that Mia speak with a professional, but Mia scoffs at the suggestion, saying that she needs her family to get her through this. She takes a walk and finds herself staring out over the sea. Jasmine (Sam Frost) comes sprinting down the beach and stops to talk, understanding exactly what Mia is going through after losing Robbo (Jake Ryan).
Mia is relieved to chat with someone who understands why Jasmine needs to leave Summer Bay for a while to escape the memories. Mia afterwards feels a newfound feeling of purpose and begs Tane to speak with her. She sits him down and informs him that she is leaving the Bay permanently, and she is taking Chloe (Sam Barrett) with her…
