The calm Summer Bay beach has been turned into a crime scene in the aftermath of wealthy gambler PK’s (Ryan Johnson) body being found. Cash (Nicholas Cartwright) and Rose (Kirsty Marillier) investigate, noting that the death is being treated as suspicious and it appears there are indications of violence. The coroner’s report comes back, saying the time of death was in the last few days.
A knock on the door interrupts Felicity (Jacqui Purvis), Tane (Ethan Browne), and Logan (Harley Bonner) as they enjoy dinner at home. When the police arrive, Cash and Rose inform them that PK has passed away. Tane and Felicity exchange glances as they realise that the situation has changed as a result of this. Although Felicity claims he has some questions for her, she is not being looked at as a potential suspect.
When asked what Mackenzie’s (Emily Weir) link is to PK, Felicity, who is aware that Logan is standing directly in front of her but that the police want explanations, rapidly pieces together a half-truth. She claims that PK gave her a loan because Mac had a huge debt. Felicity responds that the police will need to speak with Mackenzie about what PK intended in exchange when Rose inquires.
The police are suddenly expelled, but Felicity’s problems are far from finished because Logan has a lot of questions for her. What relationship does Mackenzie have with this sketchy character who died? After his stabbing, he already had to perform a home transfusion for Tane; what’s next? But Felicity is unable to speak much.
Logan is completely shocked by what she can say, which is that PK tried to lure Mac into bed. Tane sends Logan on his way because he knows he is there to avoid Mackenzie, but after he leaves, the pair has more important things to take care of. Could the illegal poker nights be made public now that PK has passed away and his murder is being investigated? What would this entail for Felicity and Mackenzie if it were the case?
