EXCLUSIVE: Home and Away fans have wanted a Dani Sutherland appearance for years, and now Tammin has addressed if she’d ever return to Summer Bay.
Aussie actress Tammin Sursok has had a wildly successful career over the last 20 years, from acting, to singing, to podcasting. She first got her start on Home and Away in 2000 and had a four-year stint on the show as Dani Sutherland before departing to the US and appearing in shows like Hannah Montana, The Young and The Restless, and Pretty Little Liars.
Though it’s been two decades since she was on Home and Away, fans are still nostalgic for the Sutherland family and the impact they had on Summer Bay, with Tammin telling Yahoo Lifestyle recently that she was surprised to hear that fans still wanted Dani Sutherland to make a return to the Bay.
“I was like, oh my goodness, I did not know that I made an impact or the character made an impact until I see those things and I go wow, like people did really love that time period of Home and Away,” she said. “I think that these characters really became a part of people’s families, like, they knew them so well.”

Tammin is currently busy hosting her podcast The Sh!t Show with Tammin Sursok, acting, raising her kids and writing a book — but many Home and Away fans still want to know if she’d ever reprise her role as Dani Sutherland.
In a chat with Yahoo Lifestyle, Tammin addressed whether we could ever see her back in Summer Bay and sorry Home and Away fans — it’s not looking likely.
“I don’t think so. I always feel like chapters are chapters in your life and that chapter was an amazing chapter that I loved being part of,” Tammin explained. “But I feel like if I go back, it’s almost like I put a dampener on the experience I already had because new memories will be formed and then that chapter will feel different.
“So it was such a good time of my life and it started everything [but] I feel like the answer is probably no.”

The Sutherland family were involved in many dramatic storylines on Home and Away during the ’00s, but perhaps not all as dramatic as the time Dani was sexually assaulted, only for her sister Kirsty to later fall in love with her rapist Kane Philips.
“What I thought was difficult was we reshot that entire two weeks because I gave too much of a realistic performance,” Tammin said. “Because it was too realistic, I think they thought it wasn’t for the specific timeslot so I had to go back and reshoot it, and that was really difficult for me.”
