Home and Away is set to air its darkest scenes in months as Bree Cameron is attacked at work.
This week sees Bree dealing with another hectic shift when a disruptive patient named Bart arrives at the hospital. Believing he is high on drugs, nurse Jo Langham attempts to assess him.
However, Jo struggles when Bart becomes aggressive, leading Bree to step in and help her colleague. Having dealt with difficult patients before, the doctor knows how perform her medical duties while also protecting the hospital staff.
Deeming Bart to be a safety risk, Bree moves him to a private ward with security on standby. But as she tries to deescalate the situation, Bart grabs some surgical scissors and viciously plunges them into her side.

“It’s a terrifying situation,” Juliet Godwin, who plays Bree, told TV Week. “As Bree bleeds out, she’s in pain and struggling to breathe. She tries to move as far as she can from Bart, but her injuries are too severe and she slides down against the wall.”
Fortunately, Bree is discovered by other staff members who leap into action. But when they attempt to patch her up, they realise the severity of her injury.

“Bree’s life is in serious danger,” said Godwin. “She’s struggling to breathe with a punctured lung. As Levi and Jo make their assessment this just aggravates her more – being a doctor she understands everything they are saying.”
“Blood is pooling in her lung and, unless Levi can fix it quick, Bree knows she may not survive.”
With the doctor’s fate in someone else’s hands, will she be able to pull through?
