The unexpected news was given as a warning to fans.
Home and Away actor Matt Evans has revealed there will be a death in an upcoming episode of the long-running drama series.
The multi-talented actor, 26, who plays Theo Poulos, revealed the plot twist as he spoke to hosts Larry Emdur and Kylie Gillies on The Morning Show on Friday.
However, he remained tight-lipped on just which character would no longer be part of the Summer Bay community.
“All I can say is next week a stranger will come into the Bay and someone will die,” Evans said, straight to camera, in an ominous warning to Home and Away fans.
The actor joined Home and Away in 2021 as Theo, the nephew of Leah Patterson, played by veteran actor Ada Nicodemou.
Evans, who also appeared on The Voice in 2019, is a graduate of the Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts, from which he attained a Bachelor of Contemporary Music.
He is now releasing his first single, Better To Forget.
Asked how he finds the time for both music and acting, Evans replied: “I make it work when I can.”
“A lot of people say ‘How do you find the time?’ I don’t really. I just do what I can when I can,” he said.
“A lot of late nights.”
Evans said his debut song was about not always making the greatest decisions.
“(I wrote it when) I was in a constant partying cycle and was in that mode — at the moment I’m a lot more sober,” he said.
“It talked about how I was having a bit of trouble escaping that cycle.
“It’s quite a sad message, but I always like to make my songs upbeat and happy.
“The lyrics say there are no regrets, no mistakes. Just move on, move forward, and that is a big message of the song,”
Evans said he had a series of live gigs coming up, both in Australia and overseas.
“I will be playing some shows in Melbourne, in Sydney, Central Coast — I will be announcing the dates on my Instagram soon. It will be in July,” he said.
“And also I am very excited about heading to the UK, Belgium and Norway in August as well. So I will be playing some shows, tickets are on sale for Belgium.”
