Rebecca Breeds has paid an adorable tribute to her husband and former Home And Away co-star Luke Mitchell.

The pair, who starred as Ruby Buckton and Romeo Smith respectively, found love on the Channel Seven soap before Luke popped the question in 2012.

Taking to Instagram on Thursday, Rebecca shared an adorable throwback photo that showed the pair hamming it up on set.

Rebecca, 37, clad in her Summer Bay High uniform, could barely contain her laughter in the photo as she piggybacked her future beau.

Luke, 39, meanwhile was sporting quite the cheeky expression as he held on tightly to Rebecca.

Captioning the image the new mum reflected on the pair’s journey together, while paying tribute to Luke’s sense of humour.

‘My ride or die laughing,’ the actress wrote.

‘What an adventure we’re on. With all I am and all I have.’

The cute throwback was met with a flurry of comments from followers who gushed over the burgeoning romance.

‘This is literally adorable oh my god,’ one fan wrote, while another chimed in with a similar: ‘Love how I hate the Ruby and Romeo relationship but love the Rebecca and Luke one.’

Others jumped in to claim that the couple’s stint on Home And Away was one of he best periods of the beloved Seven soap.

‘The best era of home and away,’ one fan wrote, summing up the sentiment of many.

The throwback post comes after Rebecca and Luke welcomed their first child back in  February.

In photos shared on the social media platform, the pair gave fans a glimpse of their newborn son, whose name they have not shared

Welcome to the world little man. Thanks for choosing us. We love you beyond words’ the caption read.

The images showed the little one cradled by his parents as well as his little feet and tiny hands.

They were inundated with congratulations from their famous friends including Jessica McNamee who wrote, ‘He’s here! Congratulations you two’.

Actress Georgie Parker chimed in: ‘Oh Luke, huge congratulations to you and Bec. Now the fun begins. Sending love’.

American star Jaimie Alexander said: ‘Awwww congrats to you both. Sending so much love!’

Actor Drew Powell chimed in: ‘Congrats matey!!! It’s the toughest job you’ll ever love!’

The couple revealed that they were expecting their first child in November last year.

After tying the knot in 2013, the couple relocated to the US where Rebecca nabbed roles such as the iconic Clarice Starling in the CBS Silence of the Lambs spin-off series Clarice, and as Nicole in Pretty Little Liars.

After moving stateside, Luke also nabbed roles in the CW’s Tomorrow People and Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.

The lovebirds relocated back to Australia around three years ago.

In 2023, Rebecca told TV Week the move home had been ‘good for the soul.’

‘It’s been really, really nice just to ground ourselves and be back home,’ she said.

‘I finally have a garden – I’ve been wanting to have a vegetable garden for so long. So we’re literally putting down roots back home and that has been very soothing for the soul.’

She added that her time in the US was made so much easier thanks to the fact that Luke was by her side.

‘It was really powerful to have someone who was your anchor and your home base, because it can be a very difficult experience, moving away from everything you’ve ever known,’ she said.

‘Our industry has a lot of pressure and a lot of highs and a lot of lows. It can be very lonely.
