Is he making an enemy of David?

Home and Away‘s Tane Parata defies warnings from David Langham next week, as he invites the cop’s daughter Jo to join him in a motel room for a passionate encounter. David fears that Jo’s new man isn’t right for her, but after giving it some thought, Tane decides to ignore his meddling and face the consequences.

Early next week, Tane dares to hope that he’s finally making positive progress with Jo as they arrange a third date. Sadly, just when things are looking good, David pays a surprise visit to Tane…

“David has learned that Tane is on a suspended sentence,” our Summer Bay source explains. “Naturally, the strait-laced policeman has some concerns, but Tane defends himself and insists that he has nothing to hide.

“Tane’s caught out, though, when he admits that he hasn’t had a chance to tell Jo about his criminal past yet.”

Taking control of his own destiny, Tane seizes the first possible opportunity to let Jo know about his baby kidnap scandal from last year. Jo is initially concerned, but is soon won over by Tane’s honesty and the emotional circumstances which surrounded his uncharacteristic behaviour.

Sadly, this isn’t enough to satisfy David. When he next sees Tane, he points out that Jo is very fragile and deserves a less complicated relationship.

Finally crumbling in the face of David’s disapproval, Tane turns cold towards Jo – believing that he’s acting in her best interests. Jo instantly notices the change in his demeanour and demands answers…

“Jo’s totally confused by Tane’s mixed signals,” our spy continues. “She suggests that if Tane isn’t really into her, he should just be honest with her and stop wasting her time.

“Tane’s unable to explain himself in the heat of the moment, but later arranges another meeting so he can set the record straight.”

As they come face-to-face again, Tane gives Jo a proper explanation for his chaotic approach to their relationship so far.

When Jo asks Tane one last time whether he wants to be with her, he confirms that he does – and suggests taking things somewhere private…

At a motel room, Tane and Jo give into their passion but they suggest keeping their relationship under wraps for the time being.

This seems the best way to prevent any more meddling, but can they manage it?
