ITV’s Coronation Street is set to reintroduce a notorious killer, which spells trouble for the Platt family.

Coronation Street is reportedly bringing back one of its most infamous villains. Clayton Hibbs, portrayed by Callum Harrison, made his debut in 2016 as Shona Platt’s estranged son and quickly became a source of chaos.

In a dramatic storyline from 2016, Clayton fatally stabbed David Platt’s wife, Kylie, leaving David to grieve over her in her final moments. In retaliation, David tried to kill Clayton, but the troubled teen was ultimately arrested and convicted of murder, receiving a sentence of 15 years to life. His last appearance was in 2020, while incarcerated.

According to The Metro, Callum Harrison has already filmed scenes for Clayton’s return, set to air next month. However, it’s reported that this comeback won’t be permanent.

The Platt family, who have been facing several recent challenges, will likely be rocked by Clayton’s reappearance. David has recently been exposed for stealing illicit money from Damon, and Gail Platt was hospitalized last week due to a heart attack. Additionally, it has been confirmed that Gail, played by Helen Worth, will be leaving the show after 50 years, marking a significant milestone for both the character and the actress.

Reflecting on her decision to exit, Helen shared, “This year felt like the perfect time to leave the show after celebrating 50 years in the most wonderful job on the most wonderful street in the world. I made the decision at the start of the year and spoke to the producers who were very kind and understanding.” She expressed gratitude for the incredible scripts and the talented people she has worked with throughout her tenure.
