This trio are the sweetest family unit.
When Sarah Roberts strode into her final Home & Away audition with the task to straddle the lap of fellow actor James Stewart, she had no idea that this would be the beginning of a beautiful love story.
Sarah and James met during the former’s final audition to play Willow in Home & Away.
The actress was called back to do a chemistry test with James (who plays Justin on the soap). Needless to say, she passed with flying colours.
“‘Look, I’m not going to bring you into the room first,’ replied Geoffrey, the director. Sarah remembered in a video posted to the official H&A Instagram account, “I simply want you to walk directly into the audition room and go straight into the scenario.”
“‘You know what?’ I said. I’m just going to go for it because this is my third audition for Home & Away.’ Jimmy was bound to the chair, and I simply walked in, straddled him, and began the play. The rest, as they say, is history.”
Sarah and James went on to fall head over heels in love behind the scenes, and history was made. And, despite the fact that they no longer share a screen, with Sarah’s stay on Home & Away coming to an end, their romance has flourished.
After two weddings, the couple is now dedicated co-parents to James’ 10-year-old daughter, Scout, whom he shares with his ex-girlfriend, Jess Marais.

Remember the time (no pun intended) that Sarah made an appearance at Scout’s Michael Jackson themed birthday party in May 2018?
James documented the shenanigans to his Instagram, sharing a photo of himself and Sarah locking hands as the guest of honour donned some MJ get-up.
“Scouts ‘Michael Jackson’ party for her 6th birthday ???… Thanks to all the little smooth criminals for coming!” the actor captioned the photo.
Jessica Marais, James’ previous partner and Scout’s mother, was also in attendance, decked up in Michael Jackson regalia.
In 2015, James and Jess announced their amicable split in a joint statement. It’s no wonder that the exes were all smiles at their daughter’s party because Scout is their top priority.
Later that year, Sarah and James took Scout on a family outing. No, not to the zoo… to Bootcamp.

Well, a family who exercises together, stays together.

The trio looked as glamorous as ever at James’ sister’s wedding in April of 2019.
Sarah donned a stunning blue dress, which complemented James’ dapper navy suit, while Scout looked darling in a white number.
“My girls?,” the Home & Away star captioned the post.

wo months later and it was James and Sarah’s turn to head down the aisle.
There were two rituals for the couple. The official signing of the paperwork took place on July 6th at Coogee, Sydney. The second, held on July 23rd in Luttrellstown Castle in Ireland, was far more opulent. Because Sarah’s brother and family live in Dublin, they chose this as their particular location.
Scout was present at both ceremonies, dressed in a white gown and serving as a flower girl at the latter.
The newlyweds told New Idea shortly after their Irish wedding, “It was the finest day of our life.”
These three are constantly beaming at each other. James uploaded a black-and-white photo of his family snuggled together on a lounge on Father’s Day in 2020.
“Happy Father’s Day fella’s??,” the actor accompanied the post.
While many couples choose to ditch the kids on Valentine’s Day, this year, James and Sarah embraced the day as a family.
“Rose between the thorns? #myfunnyvalentine #luckyman,” James wrote on Insta alongside of photo of him and his girls, all donning black
Sarah warmed her family’s stomachs with her cooking endeavour a day after Valentine’s Day. The H&A alum shared a photo of the finished product, as well as a photo of her husband and young Scout at the dinner table.
“Ummm you guys! I’ve become a master chef!!!” Sarah captioned the sweet photo.
Sarah shared a wonderful polaroid of herself with James and Scout, beaming at the camera, to celebrate Father’s Day.
“You’re the centre of our family’s happiness. Happy Father’s Day @__jamesstewart__ , the 37-year-old penned alongside the memory.
When the sun shines, the Stewart family has a blast. The three musketeers went to the beach in October to catch some rays, but only in a safe manner.
On Instagram, James shared a sweet snapshot of him and his children on the sand, one of which included Scout wearing his hat (like we said, sun safe).
“Dads hat.. ☀️✨,” the 45-year-old simply wrote.
The trio surely rang in the spooky season of 2021 in style. Scout wore artificial blood patches on her face, while James wore Vampire teeth and a black cap. Sarah, on the other hand, wore a strong red lip with a matching scrunchy, as well as thick black eyeliner and running mascara.
“?? Happy Halloween ??,” Sarah wrote alongside the photo.
From Halloween to Christmas, James shared a sweet snap of the tight-knit trio in December while enjoying their time off, penning: “Happy Holidays ✨??.”
On ANZAC Day 2022, James shared a commemorative photo of the trio with the caption: “Lest we forget????.”
Both James and Sarah shared touching tributes to Scout to mark her 10th birthday in May 2022.
“Happy 10th Birthday darling Scout!! ..you’ll always be my little girl. I love you 3000! ❤️?,” James wrote on Instagram.
“Can’t believe my little best friend is 10! Here’s to another decade of dreams coming true… ????????????????????♀️✨,” Sarah penned on her own account.
