“She’s been there for me from day one, she’s incredible.”
As Johnny Ruffo takes up his second fight against brain cancer, he has girlfriend Tahnee Sims by his side every step of the way – a woman he has often credited with saving his life.
The former Home and Away star and talented singer has been battling cancer since 2017, after it returned in 2020 when he was given the all clear after multiple rounds of chemotherapy in 2019.
His beautiful girlfriend Tahnee, with whom he can’t wait to spend the rest of his life, is by his side as he fights cancer.
Speaking with Nova’s Fitzy & Wippa, Johnny was asked whether he would ask Tahnee to marry him at some stage.
“At some stage I would think so!” he answered.
Johnny also spoke of what he hopes his future looks like, and said that he’d “like to think” he’ll be married to Tahnee.
When it came to whether or not children should be present at the table, Johnny was a little more hesitant to respond, but he had a fairly amusing reason for his apprehension.
“I don’t know about children, I just think I’m too selfish to have children, not in a bad way,” he said.
“I want to go to the footy and I don’t want to have to organise a babysitter!”
The 33-year-old went on to say that he enjoys his freedom, particularly being able to travel on vacations without having to care for his children.
For the time being, Johnny is pleased with just him and Tahnee, calling his six-year girlfriend as “amazing.”
“She’s been there for me from the beginning, she’s great,” he remarked.
The pair met began dating after they met in a dance studio in 2015, and her love and support over the years has certainly not been lost on Johnny.
“She’s been fantastic. I can’t say I blame her. Johnny gushed to Daily Mail Australia in 2018, “She’s been there for me every step of the way from literally the day I was diagnosed to today.”
“She’s been nothing short of incredible. It’s been great because she’s been my rock.”
