Morning Star Shocks with Unexpected Appearance in New Coronation Street Role

A former cast member of This Morning has unexpectedly appeared on Coronation Street in a new role, leaving the studio behind.

A former colleague of Sharon Marshall’s on This Morning has landed a part in Coronation Street.

Sharon took a minute during her section on the popular ITV morning show to congratulate Nick Harris, the former director of This Morning, on his new job as Joel’s former employer, Mal Walcott, on Corrie.

As she spilled the beans on what was coming up in the soap world, Sharon announced: “Can I just say? Well done to our former This Morning director – the voice in our ear – who was on Corrie on Monday! He was playing a legal expert and will be coming back by the end of the month.”

Co-host Ben Shephard couldn’t resist sharing his own experiences, saying: “He directed me on Tipping Point too. Honestly, having him in your ear, as you all know, is like having a character from Coronation Street in your ear. Just fabulous!”

The new role ties into a significant plot involving Joel Deering, who has been skilfully dodging accountability for his violent attack on Lauren Bolton, leaving her for dead.

Now, attempting to gain custody of their child, Joel’s freedoms hang by a thread as DS Swain and Joel’s ex-fiancee Dee-Dee Bailey are hell-bent on serving justice.

Vicky Myers, who portrays DS Swain, recently told The Mirror: “He’s done it so cleverly and deviously that he’s duped so many people. He is in a position of trust, and he’s massively abused that trust.

“I think there is that female empowerment and they shall rise up to bring him down… I hope that’s what happens.”, reports.

She added: “I think it’s important to have every woman he’s wronged, cos there’s a whole host of women along the line. There’s [that] female empowerment and that is the embodiment of this show, strong female characters.

“So I feel like he has been ruling the roost for a bit too long. It would be brilliant for each of them to have their day individually or collectively.”

This Morning airs weekdays at 10am on ITV.
