The hurricane calamity on Neighbours has been officially confirmed by the show’s producers.
The show has already hinted that catastrophic weather will visit Erinsborough in early 2022, which will be the year’s first major stunt.
After much conjecture, the stunt narrative will coincide with Kyle Canning and Roxy Willis’ wedding, according to Neighbours executives.
Following a rough few months, Kyle (Chris Milligan) and Roxy (Zima Anderson) are excited to go down the aisle, but with tragedy looming, it appears that their big day may be remembered for all the wrong reasons.
“While Kyle and Roxy’s wedding preparations are in full stride for their big day, a terrible storm carrying gale-force winds threatens to bring the celebrations to a tragic halt,” a Neighbours statement teased.
“Which of our residents will fall, victim, when disaster strikes at the celebrations?”
The wedding will be troubled, according to Jacinta Stapleton, who portrays Amy Greenwood in the drama.
She recently said: “So we’re all there celebrating this beautiful wedding, and then tragedy strikes.”
Neighbours returns for its new season on January 3 in the UK and Australia.
In the UK, the show will continue to screen five days a week, however, in Australia, the show will continue to air four nights a week, meaning that broadcasts on 10 Peach will eventually lag behind Channel 5.
The debut of Amy’s daughter Zara Selwyn and the entrance of mystery woman Freya Wozniak are two other stories that will air next year.
Neighbours will also screen some special London-filmed sequences featuring Amanda Holden of Britain’s Got Talent and singer Sophie Ellis-Bextor.
