THE NEIGHBORHOOD’S popular Willis family has brought a lot of drama to Ramsay Street, but they’ll be the first to leave Erinsborough before the Channel 5 show ends later this year.
The new generation of the renowned Neighbours family, led by their stepmother and auntie, Terese Willis, was introduced as Ned Willis (Ben Hall) and Roxy Willis (Zima Anderson) (Rebekah Elmaloglou). In recent years, teenagers have been at the center of some of the Channel 5 soap’s most high-profile stories, including near-death experiences and numerous love triangles. However, the couple will be leaving the program in the coming weeks, along with Kyle Canning (Chris Milligan), since their time on the show is coming to an end.
With filming wrapping up in June and the final episodes of the popular show premiering in the UK in August, writers are scrambling to figure out how to wrap up the lives of many of the residents.
Terese isn’t expected to leave the show anytime soon, as her poisonous relationship with Paul Robinson (Stefan Dennis) persists.
She will, however, be saying goodbye to her stepson and niece in the near future as they make arrangements for their lives away from Ramsay Street.
According to the most recent rumours, Ben, the actor who plays Ned, is nearing the end of his contract, and an insider told Digital Spy that the character will be saying his goodbyes to the location he has come to call home.
The specifics of his resignation have yet to be announced, as it appears that his managers want fans to be startled by his departure.
Viewers have been watching as his relationship with Amy Greenwood (Jacinta Stapleton) has slowly deteriorated in recent weeks.
Simultaneously, he appears to have formed a bond with Harlow Robinson (Jemma Donovan), which the two are beginning to explore further.
He appears to be torn between starting a fresh romance with a new love interest and pursuing a future away from Erinsborough.
The youngster is a huge art admirer, and he created Sonya Rebecchi’s (Eve Morey) memorial on Ramsay Street to tell her young children that she would always be there for them.
Will he be scouted to paint a work in another part of the world or will he be offered a scholarship to perfect his abilities in a school in a different region of Australia?
In the case of his cousin Roxy, it appears that a desire to establish a family may be the driving force behind her and her husband Kyle’s decision to leave.
After getting married earlier this year and following Kyle’s fight with testicular cancer, the couple had explored having a kid in recent scenes.
Roxy’s husband, who needed his testicles removed, was able to give a sample of his sperm to be utilized when he and his wife were ready to start a family.
However, if IVF proves to be ineffective, the couple may consider other methods for having children.
They may elect to adopt Naomi Canning’s (Morgana O’Reilly) late partner’s children, or they may decide to take on parental obligations for the children of Naomi Canning’s (Morgana O’Reilly) late spouse.
