Neighbours’ script producer sadly reveals how long filming has left

The script producer for Neighbours, Shane Isheev, has disclosed that filming on the long-running soap is barely four weeks away.

You’re crying, not laughing.

Following Channel 5’s decision to pull the show from their schedules earlier this year, production company Fremantle acknowledged that despite their best efforts, they had been unable to find another broadcast partner in the UK.

Filming for the final month-long on-air celebration has already begun, with the final episode due to air on August 1.

Shane, who is known for keeping fans up to date on all things Neighbours, took to social media on Thursday (May 12) evening to disclose that filming is only one month away.

Furthermore, all of the scripts are already finished!

Shane remarked on Twitter, “All scripts are now written.” ‘There are exactly four weeks left of filming. This is actually taking place.’

Fans were quick to reply, with one saying, ‘I never imagined as a child watching Neighbours that I would still be as invested in the show 37 years later and have the same degree of affection.’

‘Thank you, Shane, for taking on the part of writing the final episodes of a show that will live on in the hearts of millions.’

A number of prominent stars from previous seasons are scheduled to return ahead of the show’s conclusion, including Kylie Minogue and Jason Donovan, who will reprise their roles as Charlene and Scott Robinson, respectively.

Ian Smith will reprise his role as Harold Bishop, and Daniel MacPherson will reprise his role as Joel Samuels.

Natalie Bassingthwaighte (Izzy Hoyland), Pippa Black (Elle Robinson), Morgan Baker (Callum Rebecchi), Jordan Patrick Smith (Andrew Robinson), and James Mason are among the stars returning to Ramsay Street for the final episode (Chris Pappas).
