In Neighbours, Karl Kennedy’s (Alan Fletcher) joy at his investment is about to be short-lived. What he thought was a smart financial move would end up costing him a lot of money.
Fashion Week has finally arrived, and as the festivities begin, the cops arrive early to arrest Montana (Tammin Sursok). After all of Paul’s (Stefan Dennis) machinations, this is awful news for Terese (Rebekah Elmaloglou), but it’s heartbreaking for Karl, who has invested his and Susan’s (Jackie Woodburne) entire fortunes in Montana’s firm.
Susan’s reaction when she discovers they’ve lost their life savings of $200,000 dollars is understandable. When she discovers Montana is bankrupt, she unleashes her wrath on Karl. They have nothing left after offering her the Earth.
Karl makes a last-ditch effort to recover their funds, but it is in vain. Susan is furious, and she will not forget what Karl has done.
She is so enraged by his lies that she dismisses him. He no longer has a place under her roof, according to her. The final straw is losing their whole fortune.
Karl is desperate for a place to sleep and ends up couch-surfing with Paul. Not surprise, he turns out to be the worst housemate in the world, which ultimately works in Paul’s favour because it drives him to heal the Kennedys’ marriage and get Karl out from under his feet. He asks Jane for assistance, but there is one major stumbling block: Susan. She is adamantly opposed to forgiveness. Is she ever going to be, or is this the end for them?
