Amy’s attempts to get her food truck business off the ground leave her feeling alone next week on Neighbours, Zara continues to make trouble, and Paul finds himself back in Terese’s bad books.
These scenes will premiere in the United Kingdom on Monday, February 8th, and in Australia on Tuesday, February 15th.
Amy’s food truck struggles
After learning that Terese (Rebekah Elmaloglou) and Paul (Stefan Dennis) would not be reconstructing the Flamingo Bar, Amy (Jacinta Stapleton) bought a dilapidated white food truck on the spur of the moment.
The buyer’s remorse crept in almost immediately when she realized she lacked the experience and funds to start a catering business from the ground up.
It also put a toll on her relationship with her daughter Zara (Freya Van Dyke), who realized she’d be spending even less time with her mother now that she’s establishing her own company.
To top it all, Amy’s injuries from the Flamingo Bar incident are still bothering her, which were made worse when Zara shoved her into the side of her new truck. As a result, it’s fair to conclude that the new company is off to a shaky start.
Things are about to get a lot worse in the United Kingdom next week. Amy realizes she can’t build the company on her alone, so she goes to her friends for assistance — only to find herself entirely alone.
Even her most trusted friend, Ned (Ben Hall), who has been there through thick and thin, appears to be unwilling to support her dangerous new venture.
She’s injured, in debt, and responsible for Zara, and she’s afraid she won’t be able to keep her head above water.
Fortunately, a miracle is on the way. She receives an unexpected present just as she is feeling the most lonely. It improves her day, and her business is quickly getting back on track.
Say hello to ‘The Drinks Diva’!
Zara’s friendship troubles
While things may be looking up for Amy, the same can’t be said for her daughter.
Zara is still trying to make her mark at Erinsborough High and prove herself to popular girls like Sadie Rodwell (Emerald Chan) and Aubrey Laing (Etoile Little).
She’s already triggered the fire alarm, allowing kids to have a free period while the school was evacuated, and flooded one of the restrooms. Her strategy succeeded, and the two girls instantly adopted her.
Zara’s persistent efforts to make friends, however, end up injuring Jane the next week (Annie Harris). When the troubled adolescent continues to misbehave at school, Jane lashes out, leaving Zara humiliated and furious.
Zara decides to use her Ramsay Street insider knowledge and share some juicy Jane gossip with the girls in a spiteful attempt to get revenge at her new teacher.
Unfortunately, this is Erinsborough, and the news quickly spreads. Someone will be burned, but will it be Jane, Zara, or both?
Aubrey and Sadie also plan to play a practical joke on Jane in retaliation for the way she treated their new acquaintance. Zara admires the two for standing up for what they believe in – until she is held responsible for their actions!
She doesn’t want to lose face in front of her new pals, but would she allow herself to be punished for something she didn’t do?
Paul and Terese’s reconciliation is short-lived
Paul and Terese reunite in this week’s UK episodes (UK: Friday 4th January, Aus: Monday 14th February), and Paul is overjoyed with their quick reconciliation.
Terese wants to keep things quiet until they’ve gotten back into married life, but Paul persuades her to throw a party for the whole family.
He’s loving the attention and is secretly pleased by how well his manipulation has worked.
Terese was on the verge of moving out of his Lassiters penthouse, leaving him alone once more, when his health began to deteriorate.
Terese became more concerned than ever before, wanting to ensure that he was fine. What she doesn’t realize is that Paul is faking the symptoms in order for her to stay in his apartment.
His approach, however, is only effective if he can keep Karl (Alan Fletcher) and David (Takaya Honda) off his back. It’s game over if the doctors figure out he’s lying. Karl is taken aback when he fires his doctor and replaces him with a private one, but neither David nor Kyle are convinced by the new doctor’s diagnosis.
David is still wary of the new Dr. Russell, and he urges Paul to undergo further scans to back up his claims. Paul lashes out in retaliation, and David soon realizes his father’s plan — he’s been lying about his illness to keep Terese around!
Will David keep his father’s secret?
Terese realizes the truth the next day (UK: Friday 11th January / Aus: Tuesday 22nd February), and she’s enraged that Paul has deceived her yet again!
She truly believed he was improving and that their divorce had finally changed him for the better, but she’s now realized he’s still the deceptive Paul Robinson he’s always been.
Their reunion is over, and now that the truth is out, he has the rest of Ramsay Street working against him.
Paul is once again left alone.
