Home and Away fans can relax about the fate of one beloved character.
After the season finale last month left viewers worried about Nicholas Cartwright’s character, Cash, potentially facing criminal charges, recent on-set photos have emerged to ease those concerns.
A viewer shared the spoiler in a Facebook Home and Away group, revealing Cartwright’s character back on duty in Summer Bay. The images show Cash in his police uniform, filming scenes alongside his police car and an unidentified character.
Also featured in the photo is actor Ethan Browne, who portrays Tane, standing in a singlet and watching the scene being filmed.
Home and Away viewers can breathe a sigh of relief over the fate of one of the shows favourite characters after the season finale last month left Nicholas Cartwright’s character Cash facing possible criminal charges
It comes after Home and Away ended its 2024 season last month on a cliffhanger with Cash waking up next to the lifeless body of his enemy Tim (played by George Pullar).
Cash’s ex-fiancée Eden, played by Stephanie Panozzo, had warned him that Tim’s former client Nerida (Ellie Gall) felt slighted and was out for revenge.
Meanwhile, fans took to social media with theories about the storyline that might develop in next year’s season.
Viewers noticed that Nerida appeared in a promo shot which appeared to feature her character in handcuffs at a police station being booked by Officer Rose Delaney (Kirsty Marillier).
Some claimed the photo provided a major clue that her mysterious character was involved in Cash’s predicament.
‘Definitely Nerida in handcuffs,’ one follower wrote.
‘Maybe that girl is one of the people arrested,’ a second suggested and a third chipped in: ‘That is Nerida definitely.’
The iconic Australian drama series has developed a reputation for its suspenseful and gripping cliffhangers.
In August, fans were left heartbroken when Felicity Newman, a fan-favourite character played by Jacqui Purvis, tragically collapsed and died in shocking scenes.
After leaving viewers in tears over her character’s death on the soap, the 33-year-old actress spoke out about her emotional final episodes.
The Australian star, who is now aiming for success in Hollywood, shared a heartfelt tribute to the show that made her famous. “What a life! Thank you to @homeandaway for an incredible three years. Had an absolute blast,” she wrote alongside a montage of behind-the-scenes moments. “This is just a small part of the love I have for the cast and crew, so many people will be missed.”
Jacqui also took the time to thank her co-star and on-screen love interest, Ethan Browne, who portrayed Felicity’s ex-husband, Tane Parata.
“There are too many people to thank, but most importantly, to Ethan for helping create a beautiful love story,” Jacqui added. “And to the fans for your endless support, thank you for welcoming Flick into your homes. I hope she brought you as much joy as she brought me.
The Home and Away account commented beneath the emotional video and message ‘We will miss you’ alongside a series of red love hearts.
Ethan also responded, writing: ‘What a journey indeed! You brought “Tanicity” to life, and injected a thunderous energy to the bay!
‘Thank you for gracing us all with it. You are going to be sorely missed, my friend.’
Jacqui’s final scenes aired in August when Felicity’s brother Cash made the heartbreaking decision to switch off her life support.
Home and Away viewers were shocked when Jacqui’s character Felicity, nicknamed Flick, suddenly collapsed in the gripping episode.
Felicity suddenly fell to the ground when her vision went blurry during an emotional conversation with ex-husband Tane.
