Ryan Moloney, who plays Jarrod “Toadfish” Rebecchi on Neighbours, has offered his opulent Mornington Peninsula land for $7.5 million to $8 million.
The four-bedroom home at 10 Merricks Beach Rd in Merricks, which includes a pool, gym, half-basketball court, barn, riding arena, and stables, is being sold by the actor and his wife Alison.
CoreLogic records reveal the couple has owned the sprawling 4.33ha farm since 2015.
The gorgeous property is a far cry from those on the fictional Ramsay St, and it’s so private that the Neighbours star wouldn’t have to deal with any curious neighbors.
Moloney has played Toadie on the popular soap opera since 1995, but he and Alison also run Beach Box Honey, a beekeeping and honey business from their farm.
From the home’s enormous picture windows, the Moloneys claimed they enjoyed “watching the storms roll in from the south or (the) sunrises in the east.”
The pair explained, “The house is built to provide a link with the outdoors, and the quiet and solitude is excellent for our lives to relax and unwind.”
They also appreciated the close proximity of the tree-lined block to the ocean, which Homes and Acreage director Grant Perry said was unusual for acreages in the area.
“It will really appeal to someone with horses,” Mr Perry said.
Mr Perry explained, “You can ride straight out from the property down to Balnarring Beach, where you are allowed to ride on the beach.”
It was also ideal for a city buyer looking for a “walk-in” property that didn’t require any work, he said.
There was also a study, a north-facing outdoor entertaining area, and the main bedroom with an ensuite and dressing room.
The “virtually off-grid” family pad features its own dam, orchard with a chook pen, and 280,000L of water storage, as well as passive design concepts and solar panels for sustainable living.
Mr Perry said Merricks was emerging as a standout Mornington Peninsula neighborhood, offering a more tranquil seaside lifestyle than hotspots like Portsea or Sorrento, as well as a shorter commute to Melbourne.
The property is for private sale.
